Dart Group PLC, together with its subsidiaries, engages in leisure airline, package holidays, and distribution and logistics activities in Europe. The company operates scheduled and charter flights to leisure destinations in Europe with a fleet of 42 aircrafts under the Jet2.com brand name. It also operates passenger charter flights for specialist tour operators, specialist holiday providers, other airlines, sports teams, pilgrims, government and national agencies, orchestras, corporate clients, and cruise lines to destinations in Europe, the United States, Canada, the United Arab Emirates, and Saudi Arabia; and provides cargo services with one Boeing 737-300 freighter and seven Boeing 737-300 quick change aircrafts that carry approximately 16 tonnes of containerized or palletized cargo. In addition, it provides package holidays under the Jet2holidays brand name. Further, it distributes fresh produce, temperature-controlled, and ambient products to supermarkets and wholesale markets in the United Kingdom under the Fowler Welch brand name; and offers various logistics solutions, including warehousing and case pick-to-order services to retailers, importers, and manufacturers for food and drink distribution. Dart Group PLC was founded in 1971 and is based in Leeds, the United Kingdom.

Dart Group PLC announced that Stephen Heapy, Chief Executive Officer - Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, and Gary Brown, Group Chief Financial Officer, are to join the board of directors of the company as executive directors with immediate effect. Stephen Heapy has been with Dart Group since 2009 and is the CEO of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays. He has extensive experience in the travel industry having held roles with My Travel PLC, Thomas Cook and Libra Holidays. Stephen is a Fellow of the Institute for Travel and Tourism. Prior to joining Dart Group, Gary was Global CFO of Umbro PLC and subsequently, following the sale of the Umbro business to Nike Inc., Umbro International Limited. The company also announced that Trevor Crowley, senior independent non-executive director, and Brian Templar, independent non-executive director, have resigned from the Board with immediate effect. Mark Laurence, who joined the Company as a non-executive director in May 2009, remains on the Board. The company will appoint a further non-executive director in due course.
