East Asia Minerals Corporation announced that as of the quarterly period ended May 31, 2014, the company has written down the value of its Miwah project based on identified indicators of impairment that result from a downturn in the mining industry in particular, unfavourable changes in the property or project economics, inability to raise financing necessary to continue exploration or develop a property, significant decreases in the current or expected future prices of mineral resources, an inability to access the site and environmental restrictions on development. As a result, the company has recorded an impairment write-down of the Miwah project to a nominal value.

East Asia Minerals Corporation Announces Positive Initial Results from Metallurgical Tests At East Asia Minerals' Sangihe Island Project

East Asia Minerals Corporation announced the initial results of metallurgical studies of composite samples from its drilling program at the Binebase and Bawone mineralized zones on Sangihe Island in Indonesia. The test work, conducted by ALS Laboratories in Perth, Australia under the supervision of Ausenco Processing Engineers, found that over 92% gold recovery could be achieved from the oxide ore in the composite samples using leach technology. Ausenco also achieved over 83% recovery from the sulphide ore in testing using flotation practices.
