Eastern & Oriental Berhad reported unaudited consolidated financial results for the third quarter and nine months ended Dec. 31, 2012. For the quarter, the company reported revenue of MYR 144,608,000 against MYR 123,120,000 for the same period of last year. Operating profit was MYR 40,654,000 against MYR 25,426,000 for the same period of last year. Profit before tax was MYR 35,628,000 against MYR 27,670,000 for the same period of last year. Profit attributable to owners of the parent was MYR 26,417,000 or 2.39 sen per diluted share against MYR 15,362,000 1.40 sen per diluted share for the same period of last year. For the nine months, the company reported revenue of MYR 440,807,000 against MYR 281,602,000 for the same period of last year. Operating profit was MYR 124,324,000 against MYR 112,693,000 for the same period of last year. Profit before tax was MYR 127,965,000 against MYR 116,562,000 for the same period of last year. Profit attributable to owners of the parent was MYR 91,664,000 or 8.29 sen per diluted share against MYR 81,090,000 7.42 sen per diluted share for the same period of last year. Net cash flows from operating activities was MYR 4,672,000 against MYR 56,134,000 for the same period of last year. Purchase of property, plant and equipment was MYR 55,919,000 against MYR 32,928,000 for the same period of last year. Purchase of intangible assets was MYR 102,000 against MYR 89,000 for the same period of last year. The increase in revenue was mainly from the properties segment. The higher profit in the current 9-month period ended December 31, 2012 was mainly due to higher profit recognition from the properties segment, lower administrative expenses and lower finance costs. Barring any unforeseen circumstances, the company announced that it is in line in meeting the Group's targets for the current year 2013.
