The company operates data exchanges, which connect various entities within the insurance markets and enables the participant to carry and process data from one end to another in the areas of life insurance, annuities, employee health benefits, risk management, workers compensation, and property and casualty (P&C) insurance. It also focuses in the area of broker systems on designing and deploying back-end systems consisting of eGlobal for multinational P&C insurance brokers; WinBeat for P&C brokers in the Australian and New Zealand markets; and EbixASP, a system for the P&C insurance brokers in the United States. In addition, the company offers business process outsourcing services, which include certificate origination, certificate tracking, claims adjudication call center, and back office support. Further, it provides carrier systems, such as Ebix Advantage and Ebix Advantageweb targeted at small, medium, and large P&C carriers in the United States and internationally that operate in the personal, commercial, and specialty line areas of insurance. Additionally, Ebix, Inc. offers software development, customization, and consulting services to various companies in the insurance industry, such as carriers, brokers, exchanges, and standard making bodies. The company was formerly known as Delphi Systems, Inc. and changed its name to Ebix, Inc. in December 2003. Ebix, Inc. was founded in 1976 and is headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia.

Ebix Approves Amendment to Bylaws

On December 19, 2014, the Board of Directors of Ebix Inc. approved the Amended and Restated Bylaws of the Company. The Amended and Restated Bylaws, which take effect immediately following the Company's Annual Meeting of Stockholders, scheduled to be held on January 9, 2015, contain amendments that: (1) require stockholders requesting a special meeting to make certain disclosures and establish additional procedures and standards; (2) require advance notice from stockholders proposing business for an annual meeting or nominating directors; (3) empower the chairman of any stockholder meeting to prescribe rules for the conduct of such meetings; (4) establish requirements for setting a record date in connection with stockholder action by written consent in lieu of a meeting; and (5) provide mandatory advancement of expenses for the Company's directors, officers and employees in connection with lawsuits against them in their corporate capacities.

Security Life Insurance Company of America Announces Successful Deployment of EbixEnterprise

Security Life Insurance Company of America announced that it has successfully commenced use of Ebix's state of art end-to-end EbixEnterprise Health Exchange and insurance administration solution. EbixEnterprise is an on-demand SaaS based Insurance exchange service from Ebix Inc. This is the first implementation in the country of an Enterprise Insurance Exchange solution that encompasses a wide variety of services working together seamlessly with each other, across multiple channels and functional areas of group and individual insurance. The EbixEnterprise solution streamlines the entire front and back end administration needs for Security Life, on multiple individual and group lines such as life, disability, dental, vision and limited benefit, while allowing for real time data exchange and integration with third party systems using service oriented architecture. The EbixEnterprise solution involves a spectrum of services working seamlessly together - namely the Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Policy administration, Claims administration, Document management, Reporting, Audit, Workflow, Quoting, Accounting, Reinsurance, Client management, Billing, Rating and Underwriting services coupled with a web portal delivering self-service capabilities for their agents and employer groups, data warehouse, and business intelligence. Data flows through the sales process to the middle office CRM system, allowing Security Life to quickly deliver an integrated solution that facilitates the entire electronic sales process. The solution also includes multiple integrations on both the front- and back-end, between Security Life and Ebix systems, including the client data system, commission accounting database and document management system. This creates efficiencies in the front and back office, leading to dramatically increased productivity rates and an enhanced experience for Security Life's customers.
