Electronics For Imaging, Inc. Announces Integration with Blackboard Inc. to Enhance Campus Printing

Electronics For Imaging, Inc., or EFI, has announced integration of its EFI Self-Serve M500 Copy and Print station and EFI Self-Serve AdminCentral with Blackboard Inc.'s campus card solutions. The Self-Serve M500 Station is the easiest way to access files, print or copy and pay in a completely self-serve environment. EFI's integration with Blackboard Transact, the campus card service and integrated campus commerce and security solutions from Blackboard, allows them to pay with their campus card right from the device's 10-inch color touch screen with its tablet-like, intuitive user interface. One EFI M500 user, The University Center of Lake County, provides higher education degrees and professional development programs through a unique partnership of private and public Illinois colleges and universities. The Center's M500 stations serve thousands of users, giving UCLC the flexibility to provide services to students from 19 different member universities or education partners.

Electronics For Imaging, Inc. Introduces Two EFI Fiery DFEs for Canon Imagepress C800 and C700 Series

Electronics For Imaging, Inc. has introduced two EFI Fiery digital front ends, or DFEs, for the new Canon imagePRESS C800 and C700 presses. The Canon imagePRESS Server F200 and G100 are the first DFEs built on EFI's Fiery FS150 Pro platform for cut-sheet digital production systems. The Fiery FS150 Pro platform offers faster processing, unsurpassed image quality and even easier to use automated workflows. The new imagePRESS F200 server includes the latest version of EFI's JDF-certified Fiery technology, which can connect users' imagePRESS operations into efficient, plant-wide management workflows to simplify and improve overall business management. The server supports the latest version 3.0 of the Adobe PDF Print Engine rendering platform and a variety of variable-data formats and standards, including PDF/VT 2 and PPML 3.0, giving users added flexibility to create higher-value personalized documents. Seamless integration to EFI MIS and Web-to-Print products, Oce PRISMA workflow from Canon, and leading prepress workflow solutions - including Kodak PRINERGY, Heidelberg Prinect and Agfa Apogee - provide increased shop automation and productivity. The Fiery FS150 Pro DFEs expand upon the advanced imaging features of their predecessor, an EFI Fiery FS100 Pro platform that was the first DFE to earn a 100% perfect pass label from VIGC's PDF RIP Audit. Users can have more confidence than ever before that their output matches the designer's intent on the first print, especially with a new, unique grayscale composite overprint feature that ensures correct monochrome printing of overprints, drop shadows and transparencies.

EFI Unveils Optimized ERP and One-Pass LED Inkjet Label Print, Varnish

EFI announced the first fully in-line LED inkjet digital printing system with flexo varnish, lamination, in-line laser cutting and slitting for lean label production. The production line features the 13-inch wide EFI Jetrion(R) 4950LX LED narrow web press now available with a new white ink module. The new end-to-end production line makes its debut amid increasing momentum among Jetrion customers: EFI has just surpassed the 200-press milestone for its installed base of Jetrion equipment. EFI's new, complete label converting production line is on display in the company's Labelexpo exhibit in booth 6423, which also features the EFI H1625 LED printer a new, 65-inch wide hybrid roll/flatbed printer suitable for high-quality label proofing and packaging prototyping applications. EFI, which has seen its sales of advanced packaging MIS/ERP products double over the past two years, is continuing its momentum in software innovation with the launch of the latest version of the EFI Radius ERP system, which offers new scheduling, CRM and order-entry tools for streamlined, automated converting workflows. These solutions offer unparalleled plant optimization opportunities that are critical in short-run, digital environment. The automated Jetrion 4950LX press with integrated finishing has a superior, 720x720 dots per inch resolution. Plus, EFI is demonstrating a faster, 200 feet per minute speed for the press, a higher level of throughput that can make digital inkjet label converting an even more useful option as a replacement for flexographic printing. The Jetrion 4950LX LED press on display is the culmination of years of advanced research in narrow-web production and LED inkjet technology.
