Agricultural Bank of China Limited provides corporate and retail banking products and services in the People’s Republic of China. It operates through four segments: Corporate Banking, Personal Banking, Treasury Operations, and Others and Unallocated. The company’s retail banking products and services include demand, time, and call deposits; residential mortgage loans, personal consumption loans, personal business loans, and credit cards and overdrafts; debit cards; settlement services; and financial management, asset management, advisory and consulting, cross-border financial, and other services. Its corporate banking services comprise of corporate demand, call, negotiated, time, and agreed-term deposits, as well as agreement savings accounts; fixed asset loans, domestic and international trade finance, guarantees and commitment, working capital loans, real estate loans, and entrusted syndicated loans; and payment and settlement, cash management, foreign exchange and RMB trading, and investment and wealth management services. The company’s corporate banking services also include investment banking services consisting of financing, financial advisory, and asset management; custody services; bank cards; financial market services comprising money market, transaction, precious metal, bond underwriting and distribution, agency wealth management, and bill businesses; financial institution services that include inter-bank, bank-securities, bank-futures, and bank-insurance cooperation services; loans for small enterprises; and other services. It also offers agro-related personal and corporate banking products and services; and Internet, telephone, mobile, television, SMS, and self-service banking services, as well as e-commerce solutions. As of December 31, 2012, the company had 23,472 domestic branch outlets. Agricultural Bank of China Limited was founded in 1951 and is based in Beijing, the People’s Republic of China.

Agricultural Bank of China Limited reported unaudited consolidated earnings results for the first quarter ended March 31, 2013. For the quarter, the company reported interest income of RMB 145,914 million against RMB 137,183 million a year ago. Net interest income was RMB 89,288 million against RMB 85,835 million a year ago. Operating income was RMB 119,841 million against RMB 107,506 million a year ago. Profit before tax was RMB 60,724 million against RMB 56,135 million a year ago. Profit for the period was RMB 47,051 million against RMB 43,460 million a year ago. Attributable to equity holders of the bank was RMB 47,011 million or RMB 0.14 per basic share against RMB 43,454 million or RMB 0.13 per basic share a year ago. Net profit of RMB 47,051 million representing an increase of 8.26% over the same period of 2012, primarily due to the increase of net interest income and net fee and commission income. Net cash from operating activities was RMB 208,204 million against RMB 443,574 million a year ago. Cash paid for purchase of property, equipment and other assets was RMB 8,500 million against RMB 6,343 million a year ago. Net assets per share were RMB 2.46.
