Bouygues SA, together with its subsidiaries, operates in the construction, telecommunication, and media sectors worldwide. It designs, builds, renovates, and restores various types of buildings required for human activity, including houses and apartment blocks, industrial and commercial premises, public amenities, schools and universities, hospitals, offices, hotels and museums, airports, exhibition centers, leisure amenities, etc.; and civil works projects, such as underground works, complex civil engineering projects, engineering structures, roads, ports, public transport infrastructures, etc., as well as provides technical solutions in the areas of energy, industry, service transport, environment, and telecom sectors, including energy network infrastructures, street lighting, digital networks, electrical, mechanical and HVAC engineering, facilities management, etc. The company is also involved construction and maintenance of roads, highways, runways, ports, industrial platforms, logistics hubs, reserved-lane public transport, recreational facilities, bike paths, motor racing circuits, and environmental projects; and provision of civil engineering services, construction, rehabilitation, and demolition/deconstruction services, as well as specialized services, including waterproofing, railways, sale of refined products, road safety and signaling, and pipelines. Ferrovial And Bouygues Reportedly Aim To Buy John Holland

Ferrovial, S.A. (CATS:FER), Acciona, S.A. (CATS:ANA) and Bouygues SA (ENXTPA:EN) are reportedly among the parties interested in acquiring Leighton Holdings Limited's (ASX:LEI) wholly-owned John Holland Group Pty Ltd. However, Acciona has denied its participation in the race. A Chinese group and private equity players have also been reported as contenders.

Bids For John Holland Due By July 24

The first round bids for John Holland Group Pty Ltd, according to sources, are due on July 24, 2014. Ferrovial, S.A. (CATS:FER), Bouygues SA (ENXTPA:EN) and VINCI S.A. (ENXTPA:DG) are already working with the investment banking advisers and preparing to deliver indicative offers. Leighton has reportedly told the potential bidders it wants to sell the units and have the proceeds in its bank account by December 31, 2104. Macquarie Capital has been hired to handle the sale.

Bouygues to Launch Android TV Box in October

Bouygues Telecom has demonstrated a new TV box, code-named Project Miami, which is powered by the Android TV platform. Bouygues worked with Google and French TV software startup iFeelSmart on the box, which has been designed with a more modern and faster user interface as well as giving access to the Google ecosystem. The device is a 15 cm x 15 cm black box built around a Marvell Armada 1500 Pro quad-core processor, two GPUs (one for 3D and one for 2D), 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of memory that can be extended with an SD card, USB dongle or hard drive. It supports Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi n and has a USB port, an HDMI 1.4 port, aerial port, an HD DTT tuner and a Chromecast function. Bouygues will launch the new box in October after running trials with selected customers.
