envivio inc (ENVI) Key Developments
Envivio, Inc. announced integration with Adobe(R) Primetime, the industry's most advanced video publishing and monetization platform for programmers and pay TV service providers. At NAB 2013 booth #SU6202, Envivio will showcase its Envivio Halo(TM) network media processor performing live packaging of content in the Adobe HTTP Dynamic Streaming (HDS) format, encrypted with Adobe Primetime DRM and played out on a tablet. The company encoding and video processing systems can be used alongside Adobe Primetime to deliver and monetize a high quality TV-like viewing experience across connected devices. Primetime tightly integrates Adobe's video publishing, player, DRM, advertising and analytics solutions to eliminate the complexity of reaching audiences across screens and to create the best digital video experience while also ensuring the advertising and pay TV revenue. Primetime's interoperable components can be deployed individually to fit specific infrastructure needs, or as a full solution to handle the entire workflow. Envivio Muse(TM) software-based encoders provide a high-quality, all-digital live or file-based workflow for MPEG-2, MPEG-4 AVC (H.264) and adaptive streaming formats that fits new and existing environments and simplifies OPEX/CAPEX with a converged multi-screen architecture. Envivio Halo packages, encrypts, stores and distributes video streams for TV Everywhere and TV Anytime services. Halo NMPs offer huge network capacity savings, increase the flexibility of multi-screen operations and enable time-shifted applications such as catch-up TV, start-over TV, nPVR and targeted ad insertion.
Envivio, Inc. announced several forthcoming updates to its Envivio Muse encoding and Envivio Halo network media processing software products. These new software licensing options have been developed to improve quality, enable personalization of the user experience and facilitate service monetisation. Envivio products and solutions can be deployed in the headend or IT datacenter for cloud-based video processing. Encoding: Envivio Muse Live will be available on the Cisco UCS blade server platform, as well as the HP BladeSystem and Envivio 4Caster G4 Intel-based appliance. By combining the CPU strengths of these dense platforms with additional software improvements, channel density is increased: Muse Live is designed to support up to 120 SD channels in the 2RU 4Caster G4 platform and up to 16 HD channels in MPEG-2 or AVC in the future. Envivio Muse On-Demand will offer better control of video quality thanks to integrated video quality monitoring. This integrated module computes the impact of video compression on a frame-by-frame basis and provides a summary chart, allowing the operator to fine tune compression parameters or automatically reject content not meeting quality metrics.

Video processing: The Envivio Halo network media processor is being updated with numerous improvements: Just-in-time packaging for non-linear workflows - Support for Adobe Primetime, the Adobe HTTP Dynamic Streaming (HDS) format and Adobe Primetime DRM - Ad insertion and blackout functionalities compatible with CableLabs ESAM standards - Support for additional encryption modes, notably Microsoft PlayReady. Halo enables operators to further monetize multi-screen applications with its dynamic ad insertion capabilities, and new personalization capabilities that enhance the user experience. Halo will be available on the latest generation Envivio 4Caster G4 platform or as software for IT datacenter environments. Multiplexing & management: Envivio Spark is a universal gateway and multiplexer that enables operators to deploy an end-to-end broadcast TV headend for cable and satellite applications. Together with Muse encoders, Halo network media processor and Envivio 4Manager network management system, Spark offers a more complete solution for TV delivery across all networks. The full range of Envivio software-based video processing solutions will be displayed at Envivio booth #SU6202 at NAB 2013, April 8-11 in Las Vegas.
