eastmain resources inc (ER) Key Developments

Eastmain Resources Inc. Announces an Update on the Exploration Activities and Resource Modeling for its Wholly-Owned Clearwater Project

Eastmain Resources Inc. announced an update on the exploration activities and resource modeling for its wholly-owned Clearwater Project, located in James Bay, Quebec. Using management's interpretation, SRK Consulting (Canada) Inc. is currently wire framing the gold domains and geological controls to the Eau Claire gold deposit. This wire framing will form the bones of a geostatistical block model resource estimate. Simultaneously with geological modeling and wire framing, prospecting and trenching is also ongoing within a 5-km-long gold enriched corridor lateral to the Eau Claire deposit. Recent prospecting and sampling of quartz-tourmaline veins located 4.3 kms east of Eau Claire assayed from 3.99 to 62.4 grams gold per tonne in several 0.5 metre channel samples. Current 3D modeling of the Eau Claire gold deposit has shown that the distribution of gold mineralization is not confined to quartz-tourmaline veins, but also occurs between the veins as wider zones of gold-bearing altered rock connected by oblique cross structures. This revised interpretation demonstrates better continuity of the gold domains and includes intercepts that might have otherwise been left out of the impending resource estimate.

Eastmain Resources Inc. Announces Positive Prospecting and Geochemical Sampling Results on Lac Lessard Platinum Group Metal Project

Eastmain Resources Inc. announced positive prospecting and geochemical sampling results from its wholly-owned Lac Lessard Platinum Group Metal (PGM) project located 10 kms northeast of its 100%-owned Eastmain Mine property in James Bay, Quebec. 2014 exploration at Lac Lessard has confirmed that the property is underlain by an ultramafic pyroxenite intrusion containing highly anomalous concentrations of nickel-copper-PGM and gold. 235 rock samples were collected from the pyroxenite intrusion, with 86 samples containing from 0.10 to 2.82% Ni, including 22 samples grading >0.5% Ni. 60 rock samples assayed from 0.10 to 0.60% Cu, including 25 samples grading >0.25% Cu. The intrusion also contains elevated concentrations of platinum (Pt), palladium (Pd) and gold (Au) with 64 rock samples ranging from 0.10 to 2.50 grams total Pt + Pd + Au per tonne. 18 of these samples contain more than 0.5 grams per tonne total PGMs + Au. These assay values include ranges of from 0.29 to 1.05 g/t Pd, 0.12 to 0.89 g/t Pt and 0.04 to 0.45 g/t Au.

Eastmain Resources Inc. Provides Exploration Update on its Eastmain Mine, Ruby Hill East and Lac Lessard Projects

Eastmain Resources Inc. announced that it has completed preliminary targeting exploration programs on its wholly-owned Eastmain Mine, Ruby Hill East and Lac Lessard projects located in James Bay, Quebec. The key objectives at Eastmain Mine and Ruby Hill East were to explore for additional gold resources lateral to the Eastmain Gold Deposit and to search for a repetition of the mine horizon on the adjacent Ruby Hill East claim block. The program at Lac Lessard was focused on evaluating Platinum Group Metal (PGM) potential previously reported on this property. Assays are pending for all projects. The Eastmain Mine property contains a high-grade gold deposit, with ramp access to underground workings, and surface infrastructure sufficient to house a sixty-person work force, all of which is now accessible by permanent road via Route 167 North. Regional geological mapping and prospecting completed northwest of, and lateral to the gold deposit, has identified a number of gold occurrences situated within the "mine corridor", as defined by a regional magnetic high reflecting an ultramafic marker unit. The adjacent Ruby Hill East claim block covers what has been interpreted as a repetition of the mine horizon. This claim block straddles a regional break in volcanism where mafic volcanic rocks containing chert and sulfide iron formation lie in contact with felsic volcanics containing disseminated sulfides at or near the contact. Airborne geophysical surveys have defined two regional conductive horizons; one located within the mafic volcanic formation, and the second trend coinciding with the mafic/felsic contact. A major structural corridor, interpreted through detailed magnetic surveys, coincides with this bimodal volcanic sequence. 2014 preliminary field work over the properties generated 326 rock samples and 1495 soil samples. Assay data is pending. Lac Lessard is located 15 kms northeast of the Eastmain mine site and is prospective for PGMs. The property is underlain by a kilometric-scale ultramafic complex, principally composed of pyroxenite. In 2013 the property was surveyed using a combined airborne magnetic and electromagnetic VTEM system. A number of high-priority VTEM anomalies were identified and recommended for follow-up. Preliminary 2014 field work consisted of reconnaissance prospecting, soil geochemical sampling and geological targeting. Assay data is pending for 235 rock samples and 181 soil samples.
