Ericsson provides telecommunications equipment and services to mobile and fixed network operators worldwide. It operates through four segments: Networks, Global Services, Support Solutions, and Modems. The Networks segment delivers products and solutions for mobile access, Internet protocol (IP) and transport networks, and core networks. This segment offers radio access solutions; IP and transport solutions; transmission/backhaul solutions comprising microwave and optical transmission solutions for mobile and fixed networks; switching and IP multimedia subsystem solutions; and operations support systems, as well as supports operators’ management of existing networks. The Global Services segment delivers managed services, such as services for designing, building, operating, and managing networks or solutions; maintenance; network sharing solutions; shared solutions; and managed services of IT environments, as well as provides broadcast services. This segment also offers product-related services, including services to expand, upgrade, restructure, or migrate networks; network-rollout services; customer support; and network optimization services. In addition, it provides consulting and systems integration services comprising technology and operational consulting, integration of multi-vendor equipment, design and integration, and transforming programs; and industry specific solutions. The Support Solutions segment offers operations support systems; business support systems that provide revenue management, mediation, and customer care solutions; television (TV) solutions for the creation, management, and delivery of TV experiences on any device over any network; and M-Commerce solutions for money transfer. The Modems segment designs, develops, and sells LTE multimode thin modem solutions for smartphone and tablet manufacturers. Ericsson was founded in 1876 and is headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden.

SK Telecom and Ericsson Sign MOU for Joint Research for 5G Technology in Stockholm

SK Telecom and Ericsson have signed a MOU for joint research for 5G technology in Stockholm. SK Telecom and Ericsson selected technologies considered essential for evolution to 5G, including next generation small cell, ultra-wideband, low latency technology that could be used for remote driving, FDD/TDD convergence technology, gigabyte-level data transmission technology etc. SK Telecom and Ericson have also agreed to continue to work together if there are additional technologies found necessary for the next generation network. On 2 July, SK Telecom and Ericson have demonstrated 5Gbps, a LTE-based network speed in the 15GHz bandwidth.

T-Hrvatski Telekom Signs Outsourcing Agreement with Ericsson and Ericsson Nikola Tesla

T-Hrvatski Telekom announced that it has signed a non-binding Letter of Intent with Ericsson and Ericsson Nikola Tesla to outsource the services of construction and maintenance of HT's infrastructure and has initiated respective consultations with the Workers' Council of HT accordingly. With this project, HT intends to raise the quality and efficiency of its infrastructure and related facilities, while optimizing its current construction and maintenance related costs. The envisaged project includes approximately 650 employees of HT. The mentioned employees are planned to be transferred to a subsidiary of Ericsson Nikola Tesla. If negotiations are successfully completed and if the necessary corporate and, possibly, regulatory approvals are obtained, the contract will be signed and HT will promptly inform the public of the most significant elements of the contract.

Murata and Ericsson to Collaborate on Digital Power Products

Murata Power Solutions and Ericsson announced that they have entered into a technical collaboration agreement with the goal of accelerating the adoption of digital power products. Under the terms of this agreement each company will introduce a range of standardized digital power modules. This will result in the availability of multiple product sources to manufacturers that are considering migrating designs from analog to digitally monitored and controlled units.
