Great Portland Estates plc Declares Final Dividend, Payable on July 8, 2014; Reports Consolidated Earnings Results for the Year Ended March 31, 2014

The Board of Great Portland Estates plc has declared a final dividend of 5.4 pence per share (2013: 5.3 pence) which will be paid on July 8, 2014 to shareholders on the register on May 30, 2014. Of this final dividend, 1.2 pence per share will be a REIT PID in respect of the Group's tax exempt property rental business. Together with the interim dividend of 3.4 pence, the total dividend for the year is 8.8 pence per share (2013: 8.6 pence). The company reported consolidated earnings results for the year ended March 31, 2014. For the year, the company reported total revenue of £85.2 million against £69.0 million for the same period last year. Net rental income was £69.7 million against £57.1 million for the same period last year. Operating profit before surplus on property and results of joint ventures was £42.7 million against £33.9 million for the same period last year. Operating profit was £473.9 million against £193.6 million for the same period last year. Profit before tax was £422.2 million against £180.6 million for the same period last year. Profit for the year was £422.2 million or 122.5 pence per diluted share against £180.6 million or 55.7 pence per diluted share for the same period last year. Cash inflows from operating activities were £17.0 million against £12.5 million for the same period last year. Purchase and development of property was £170.7 million against £401.4 million for the same period last year. EPRA net assets per share as on March 31, 2014 was 569 pence per share, an increase of 27.6% over the year, largely due to the rise in value of the property portfolio. Group consolidated net debt was £586.1 million at March 31, 2014 down from £658.9 million at March 31, 2013 as a consequence of property disposals more than offsetting acquisitions and development capital expenditure.
