GCL-Poly Energy Holdings Limited, an investment holding company, operates as a solar photovoltaic company in the Peoples Republic of China and internationally. The company operates in three segments: Solar Material Business, Power Business, and Overseas Solar Power Plant Business. The Solar Material Business primarily manufactures and sells polysilicon and wafer to companies operating in the solar industry; and is engaged in the system integration business. The Power Business segment is involved in the development, construction, management, and operation of power plants; and sale of coal. Its power plants include coal fuelled cogeneration, resources utilization cogeneration, gas fuelled cogeneration, biomass fuelled cogeneration, incineration, and solar plants, as well as a wind power plant. As of December 31, 2013, this segment operated 30 power plants. The Overseas Solar Power Plant Business segment is engaged in the development, construction, management, operation, and sale of overseas solar plants. The company is also involved in the manufacture and sale of ingots, crucibles, and metallurgical grade silicons; trading of wafers, solar cells, modules, and steam; operation of boilers; and provision of management services. GCL-Poly Energy Holdings Limited has a strategic cooperation agreement with GCL New Energy Holdings Limited and China Singyes Solar Technologies Holdings Limited for the development, construction, operation, and upstream and downstream cooperation of distributed and ground photovoltaic power stations, supply chain of manufacturing photovoltaic material, project engineering, asset cooperation of photovoltaic power stations, and the smart microgrids project. The company was incorporated in 2006 and is headquartered in Kowloon, Hong Kong.

GCL-Poly Energy Holdings Ltd. Announces Strategic Cooperation Agreement

The Singyes Solar Board, GCL-Poly Board and GCL New Energy Board announced that Singyes Solar, GCL-Poly and GCL New Energy have entered into a legally binding strategic cooperation agreement on 30 July 2014, pursuant to which Singyes Solar, GCL-Poly and GCL New Energy will form a comprehensive strategic cooperation relationship in relation to the development, construction, operation and upstream and downstream cooperation in respect of distributed photovoltaic power stations, ground photovoltaic power stations, supply chain of manufacturing photovoltaic material, project engineering, asset cooperation of photovoltaic power stations and the smart micro-grids project. Pursuant to the Strategic Cooperation Agreement, Singyes Solar and GCL New Energy agreed that, in 2015 they will cooperate on projects mainly in relation to distributed generation with a target aggregate of no less than 500MW. The Strategic Cooperation Agreement has a term of three (3) years from the date of the entering into of the Strategic Corporation Agreement unless it is otherwise terminated by mutual agreement of all of the Parties or upon termination of the Strategic Cooperation Agreement as a result of any breach of one of the Parties' obligations under the Strategic Cooperation Agreement. The Singyes Solar Board, GCL-Poly Board and GCL New Energy Board believe that the entering into of the Strategic Cooperation Agreement will be beneficial to the business development of their respective group and is in the interest of Singyes Solar, GCL-Poly, GCL New Energy and their shareholders as a whole respectively.

GCL-Poly Energy Holdings Ltd. Provides Earnings Guidance for the Six Months Ended June 30, 2014

GCL-Poly Energy Holdings Ltd. provided earnings guidance for the six months ended June 30, 2014. For the period, the group expects to record a net profit attributable to owners of the company of not less than HKD 800 million as compared to a net loss attributable to the owners of the company of approximately HKD 917 million for the corresponding period last year. The profit was mainly attributable to the continuous technology research and innovations and enhancement of management standard of the company as well as the reduction of production costs which led to the increase of sales.

Evonik to Build Fumed Silica and Ultra-Pure Silicon Tetrachloride Plants with Jiangsu Zhongneng Polysilicon Technology Development Company in Xuzhou, China

Evonik announced that it has signed a letter of intent to build fumed silica and ultra-pure silicon tetrachloride plants in Xuzhou, China, as part of a joint venture with Jiangsu Zhongneng Polysilicon Technology Development Company. If approved by the executive bodies, the plants will start-up in 2016 with a capacity of over 20,000 tonnes/year, adding that Evonik will have a 60% stake in the venture.
