CGI Group, Inc. announced that Kentucky Health Cooperative and Louisiana Health Cooperative two of the 24 Consumer Operated and Oriented Plans established through the Affordable Care Act have selected CGI to provide healthcare payer services for the next five years. CO-OPs are nonprofit health insurance issuers established to offer competitive health plans. CGI will provide KYHC and LAHC with integrated, platform-based business process services - such as member and provider services, enrollment, billing, claims processing, printing and fulfillment - from its Center of Excellence in Bedford, Texas. CGI partner, Healthation, will provide the underlying technology for the CO-OP services.
CGI Group, Inc. supported Estonia's first satellite launch, which took place on May 7, 2013, by building the satellite's ground station control software. The ESTCube-1 satellite was successfully launched from the European spaceport in French Guiana. CGI was able to provide hands-on experience to students based on long experience in the space industry.
CGI Group Inc. announced the appointment of three new members to its Board of Directors: Mr. Alain Bouchard, Ms. Julie Godin and Mr. Joakim Westh. These members will also be included in the slate of nominees for shareholder consideration at the company's next Annual General Meeting to be held in early 2014. Joakim Westh, is an independent director sitting on the Boards of several Nordic companies, including Saab, Swedish Match and Intrum Justitia. Until 2009, Mr. Westh was a Senior Vice-President and executive team member at Ericsson Group with responsibility for strategy, operational excellence and sourcing. These three new Directors replace Mr. Claude Boivin, Mrs. Eileen A. Mercier and Mrs. Donna S. Morea, leaving the total number of Board members unchanged at 14.
