Hotel Grand Central Limited announced unaudited consolidated earnings results for the second quarter and half year ended June 30, 2014. For the quarter, the company reported total revenue of SGD 36,556,000 against SGD 34,726,000 a year ago. Profit from operating activities was SGD 5,497,000 against SGD 4,809,000 a year ago. Profit before tax was SGD 6,448,000 against loss before tax of SGD 2,808,000 a year ago. Net profit attributable to owners of the parent was SGD 4,672,000 or 0.78 cents per basic and diluted share against net loss attributable to owners of the parent of SGD 4,962,000 or 0.87 cents per basic and diluted share a year ago. Net cash flows from operating activities were SGD 2,836,000 against SGD 339,000 a year ago. Purchase of property, plant and equipment was SGD 8,713,000 against SGD 6,194,000 a year ago. For the half year, the company reported total revenue of SGD 74,701,000 against SGD 72,699,000 a year ago. Profit from operating activities was SGD 14,105,000 against SGD 12,224,000 a year ago. Net cash flows from operating activities were SGD 9,372,000 compared to SGD 12,079,000 a year ago. Purchase of property, plant and equipment was SGD 8,598,000 compared to SGD 5,438,000 a year ago. Basic and diluted EPS was 1.65 cents compared to 1.45 cents a year ago. The increase in the group’s revenue was mainly due to additional revenue from the 300 Finders Street and the hotel at Palm Cove which were purchased in 2013.
