The Basic Materials division owns and operates retail and wholesale stores in Baja California. It operates 14 stores under the ‘RiMart’ name, which supplies building materials, including cement, steel, blocks, and hand tools for various construction projects; and electric tools, electrical parts, and PVC products for builders, construction workers, and developers. This division also engages in commercial construction activities; manufacturing blocks; and owning and operating a sand concession in Baja California, which produces commercial grade sand. The Pharmaceutical Development division involves in the development of preventative and therapeutic vaccine to combat HIV/AIDS. The company was formerly known as HIV-VAC, Inc. and changed its name to Grupo International Inc. in September 2010. Grupo International Inc. is based in San Diego, California.
