Growthpoint Properties Limited Reports Unaudited Consolidated Earnings Results for the Six Months Ended December 31, 2013; Provides Earnings Guidance for the Fiscal Year 2014

Growthpoint Properties Limited reported unaudited consolidated earnings results for the six months ended December 31, 2013. For the six months, the company reported revenue of ZAR 3,045 million compared to ZAR 2,866 million a year ago. Operating profit was ZAR 2,278 million compared to ZAR 2,160 million a year ago. Profit before taxation was ZAR 2,915 million compared to loss of ZAR 183 million a year ago. Profit attributable to equity holders was ZAR 2,697 million or ZAR 140.10 per basic and diluted share compared to loss of ZAR 472 million or ZAR 26.70 per basic and diluted share a year ago. Net cash out flow from operating activities was ZAR 114 million compared to ZAR 206 million a year ago. Headline loss attributable to shareholders was ZAR 1,449 million or ZAR 75.27 per diluted share compared to ZAR 788 million or ZAR 44.55 per basic and diluted share a year ago. The increase in revenue (6.0%) compared to first half of 2013 was largely due to revenue from GOZ (13.2%), resulting from property acquisitions made, and a favourable increase in the average exchange rate applied. Development and capital expenditure was ZAR 780 million compared to ZAR 1,812 million a year ago. Net property income was ZAR 2,398 million against ZAR 2, 269 million a year ago. The company provided earnings guidance for the fiscal year 2014. The growth in distribution per share is expected to be similar to that achieved at first half of 2014.

J H N (Jan) Strydom Retires from Growthpoint Properties Limited as Non-Executive Director, with Effect from on 12 November 2013

Mr. J H N (Jan) Strydom has, with effect from the close of business on 12 November 2013, retired as a Non-executive Director of Growthpoint Properties Limited. He joined the Board of Growthpoint in 2003 at the time of its merger with Primegro Properties Ltd. and was the Chairman of the Growthpoint’s Risk Management Committee since its inception and also served on the Company’s Audit Committee since that Committee’s inception.
