It sells tires under the Goodyear, Dunlop, Kelly, Debica, Sava, Fulda, and various other Goodyear owned house brands, as well as under the private-label brands. The company is also involved in retreading truck, aviation, and off-the-road tires; manufacturing and selling tread rubber and other tire retreading materials; providing automotive repair services, and miscellaneous other products and services; and manufacturing and selling rubber-related chemicals. It operates approximately 1,240 tire and auto service center outlets, where it offers its products for retail sale and provides automotive repair and other services. The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company was founded in 1898 and is headquartered in Akron, Ohio.

The Directors of The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company have declared a quarterly dividend of 6 cents per share of common stock. The dividend is payable on December 1, 2014, to shareholders of record on October 31, 2014. The payout represents an annual rate of 24 cents per share.

Simon Greenstone Panatier Bartlett Wins Lawsuit Against The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co

A Dallas County jury has awarded $18.6 million to the family of a tire builder who died after being exposed to cancer-causing asbestos fibers at The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. plant in Tyler, Texas. Simon Greenstone Panatier Bartlett, Carl Rogers worked at the plant for 30 years before being diagnosed with mesothelioma, a deadly cancer caused by exposure to asbestos fibers. Jurors found Goodyear grossly negligent for allowing Rogers' continued exposure to asbestos. The Sept. 5 verdict includes $2.7 million in non-economic damages, $900,000 in economic damages, and $15 million in punitive damages. The parties stipulated to an amount of paid medical bills, which will also be added to the final judgment. Rogers worked as a tire builder at the Kelly-Springfield Tire Co. in Tyler, a Goodyear subsidiary. He worked with Goodyear machines that exposed him to asbestos on a constant basis. He was further exposed to asbestos-wrapped piping while maintenance work was happening at the plant. Rogers was diagnosed with mesothelioma in August 2008 and died in September 2009.

The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company Appoints Christina Zamarro as Vice President of Investor Relations

The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company announced that Christina Zamarro has been named vice president of investor relations effectively immediately. She will report to Laura Thompson, executive vice president and chief financial officer. Zamarro has been assistant treasurer, capital markets and risk management since 2010 with responsibility for the company's global capital markets, creditor relations, risk management and pension asset management activities. She joined Goodyear in 2007 as treasury manager, financial strategy, and later became director, financial strategy. Prior to joining Goodyear, Zamarro spent nine years with Ford Motor Company in a variety of treasury and financial roles.
