Triple-S Management Corporation reported unaudited consolidated earnings results for the first quarter ended March 31, 2013. For the quarter, the company reported net income attributable to company of $17.2 million or $0.61 per diluted share on total revenues of $592 million compared to net income attributable to company of $7.5 million or $0.26 per diluted share on total revenues of $589.8 million reported a year ago. Income before taxes was $22.8 million compared to $9.1 million reported a year ago. Net cash provided by operating activities was $31.2 million compared to $74.2 million reported a year ago. Net capital expenditures were $6.1 million compared to $2.8 million reported a year ago. The decrease in operating cash flow principally relates to the fact that during the last month of the first quarter of last year collected in advance the CMS payment corresponding to April 2012 premiums. Pro forma net income was $15.6 million or $0.55 compared with $6.1 million or $0.21 per diluted share in 2012. EBITDA increased to $31.4 million from $17.6 million in the same quarter last year. The management reiterates earnings guidance for the year 2013. The company expects consolidated operating revenues to be between $2.35 billion- $2.45 billion, operating income to be between $2.35 billion- $2.45 billion, Pro forma earnings per share to be in the range of $1.90 - $2.00 and effective tax rate to be between 19.5% - 20.5%.
