Hamburger Hafen und Logistik Aktiengesellschaft provides integrated handling, transport, and logistics services in Germany and internationally. The company’s Container segment handles container ships, such as loading and discharging of containers; transfers containers to other carriers, such as rail, truck, feeder ship, or barge; operates three container terminals; and provides handling, maintenance, and repair services. Its Intermodal segment maintains rail links to and from central and eastern Europe; transports containers in the Hamburg, Berlin, Munich, and Stuttgart metropolitan areas, as well as to Europe; and operates loading and discharging carriers, and inland terminals. The company’s Logistics segment offers contract and warehousing logistics, specialist handling, and consulting and management services. This segment’s services also comprise logistics services and process chains for the procurement and distribution of merchandise, such as the operation of handling facilities for dry bulk, fruit, and motor vehicles, as well as the handling of cruise ships. Its Real Estate segment is engaged in developing, letting, and managing properties in the Port of Hamburg’s peripheral area. This segment also offers real estate services; and services, such as sales, property and facility management, project development, and construction engineering. It serves shipping companies and freight forwarders; steel companies and power stations, ports operators, and logistics centers; logistics and trading companies; fashion firms; restaurants; and media, consulting, and advertising agencies. The company was formerly known as Hamburger Hafen- und Lagerhaus-AG and changed its name to Hamburger Hafen und Logistik Aktiengesellschaft in 2005. Hamburger Hafen und Logistik Aktiengesellschaft was founded in 1885 and is based in Hamburg, Germany. Hamburger Hafen und Logistik Aktiengesellschaft is a subsidiary of HGV Hamburger Gesellschaft für Vermögens-und Beteiligungsmanagement mbH.

Hamburger Hafen und Logistik AG reported earnings results for the six months ended June 30, 2014. For the period, the company’s revenue was €595.7 million against €566.4 million a year ago. EBITDA was €140.8 million against €138.6 million a year ago. EBIT was €81.4 million against €78.7 million a year ago. Profit after tax was €44.0 million against €46.5 million a year ago. On the basis of the development in the first half of the year, the company confirmed its expectation of a slight increase in container throughput in 2014 as a whole - provided that the current structure of freight flows remains unchanged. With regard to container transport, HHLA is aiming for growth that is well above the general market trend. Against this background, HHLA forecasts a moderate increase in revenue compared with the previous year's adjusted figure €1.14 billion and an operating result (EBIT) at Group level of between €138 million and €158 million.

Hamburger Hafen und Logistik AG Approves Dividend for the Financial Year 2013

The Annual General Meeting of Hamburger Hafen und Logistik AG 19 June 2014 resolved to pay out a results-orientated dividend of EUR 0.45 per dividend-entitled Class A share for the Port Logistics subgroup. Following the shareholders resolution, a dividend of EUR 0.45 per dividend-entitled Class A share will be distributed for the Port Logistics subgroup for the 2013 financial year. This puts the dividend EUR 0.20 below that of the previous year.

Hamburger Hafen und Logistik AG Reports Group Earnings and Operating Results for the First Quarter Ended March 31, 2014; Provides Financial Guidance for the Full Year 2014

Hamburger Hafen und Logistik AG reported group earnings and operating results for the first quarter ended March 31, 2014. For the quarter, group revenue increased by 6.8% to EUR 293.5 million from EUR 274.9 million a year ago. Operating result improved by 4.8% to EUR 39.3 million from EUR 37.5 million a year ago. The operating result before depreciation and amortization was 2.8 % up on the previous year at EUR 69.4 million. Profit after tax and minority interests decreased by 27.2 % to EUR 10.5 million from EUR 14.4 million a year ago. Profit after tax was EUR 19.2 million compared to EUR 22.3 million a year ago. For the quarter, the company increased its container throughput by 2.4% to 1.9 million standard containers (TEU) from 1.8 million TEU last year. The volume transported by company's Intermodal companies grew by 5.1% to 305,000 TEU from 290,000 TEU last year. For the year 2014, the company aims to achieve revenue slightly higher than in the previous year. Provided that the current structure of cargo flows remains intact, The company still expects a slight increase in container throughput and moderate, above-market growth of its Intermodal companies for the full year 2014. At the same time, infrastructure deficits and competitive pressure due to growing idle terminal capacities represent increasing burdens. With this in mind, matching the previous year's earnings figure remains an ambitious target.
