The company also provides consulting services in the areas of power plant design and construction, harbor planning and configuration, coal mine operation, and on-site optimization of raw materials logistics. In addition, it charters sea going vessels and inland barges; and organizes logistics by barge, train, or truck. Further, the company is involved in energy and coal-related projects; operation of commodities bulk port in Kalimantan; and development of projects to produce steam coal. It supplies its products to private and public customers in various industries, such as electricity generation and supply, cement, and steel, as well as other industrial consumers, such as glassworks, paper works, waste recycling plants, etc. The company was founded in 1995 and is based in Berlin, Germany.

HMS Bergbau AG announced the early termination of the contract with its CFO, Bernd Sagemann. CEO Heinz Schernikau will assume Bernd Sagemann's management responsibilities until further notice and will therefore serve as the sole member of the Executive Board. Bernd Sagemann will continue to be available to the Company in an advisory capacity.

HMS Bergbau AG to Drill Two Exploration Wells at Orzesze Licence Area

HMS Bergbau AG will drill two exploration wells at Silesian Coal Sp. z o.o., a wholly owned subsidiary of the company. Both drills in the Orzesze licence area will have a depth of 1,000 m. Drilling began on 23 June 2014. Silesian Coal Sp. z o.o. will apply for a mining licence for the Orzesze region based on this drilling and historical drilling results. The company acquired subsidiary Silesian Coal, which holds two exploration licences for the Orzesze and Studzionka-Mizer-w regions, in January 2014. It is estimated that the areas, both of which are located in Silesia, boast over 1 billion tonnes of geological coal resources. The company expects to receive mining licences in eight to twelve months time - subject to the approval of the approving authorities.
