Thales SA provides integrated solutions and equipment for government and private-sector customers in the aeronautics, space, transport, defense, and security markets in France and internationally. The company offers navigation systems, radars and air traffic control centers, surveillance systems, satellite navigation products, and airport management solutions. It is also involved in designing, developing, manufacturing, integrating, and supporting interoperable solutions for surveillance, mobility, protection, target acquisition, and engagement of land forces, including missile and armaments systems, optronics sensors, and protected vehicles; and the design of defense mission systems and equipment for aircraft, helicopters, UAV, surface vessels, and submarines, as well as offers operational maintenance services. In addition, the company provides interoperable and secure information and communications systems, such as radio communication products, networks and infrastructure systems, protection systems, critical information systems, and information technology security solutions. Further, it offers satellite and orbital infrastructure solutions; flight avionics systems and equipment, passenger cabin systems, and flight simulators for helicopters and military aircraft; microwave and imaging subsystems; and transportation systems and services for the operation of transport infrastructures, including rail signaling, and control and surveillance systems for urban and mainline transport networks, as well as fare collection and toll services. The company was formerly known as Thomson-CSF and changed its name to Thales SA in 2000. Thales SA was founded in 1893 and is headquartered in Neuilly-sur-Seine, France.

Thales SA Announces Earnings Results for the First Six Months Ended June 30, 2014; Provides Earnings Guidance for the Full Year 2014

Thales SA announced earnings results for the first six months ended June 30, 2014. For the six months, the company has driven a 15% increase in its EBIT and the adjusted net income increased by 13% from EUR 227 million to EUR 257 million. At EUR 5.7 billion, the company’s sales at the end of June are virtually unchanged from the level reached at the end of June last year. Free operating cash flow is negative in first half. Capital expenditure was up EUR 45 million year-on-year, so an increase versus last year as the company continue to streamline its industrial footprints. A positive cash flow of first half of 2013, reached EUR 864 million, and now free cash usage was EUR 535 million in first half of this year. Sales was EUR 5,695 million against EUR 5,732 million a year ago. Adjusted net income per share was EUR 1.26 against EUR 1.14 per share a year ago. Free operating cash outflow was EUR 535 million against EUR 387 million a year ago. Free operating cash flow was negative due to the usually seasonal nature of client payments. Net cash outflows from operating activities was EUR 346 million against EUR 244 million a year ago. For 2014, the company expects sales should remain stable. A continuing drive to improve performance should enable the Group to post further growth in EBIT, which should increase by 5% to 7% compared with 2013.

AJW Partners with Thales for Global Avionics Support

A partnership agreement has been signed by AJW and Thales for the repair of avionics equipment on Airbus and Boeing Single Aisle/Long Range aircraft. Under this industrial sharing partnership and related exclusivity, both the parties will operate worldwide as true partners predefining repair activities for each company per equipment lines.
