The company offers navigation systems, radars and air traffic control centers, surveillance systems, satellite navigation products, and airport management solutions. It is also involved in designing, developing, manufacturing, integrating, and supporting interoperable solutions for surveillance, mobility, protection, target acquisition, and engagement of land forces, including missile and armaments systems, optronics sensors, and protected vehicles; and the design of defense mission systems and equipment for aircraft, helicopters, UAV, surface vessels, and submarines, as well as offers operational maintenance services. In addition, the company provides interoperable and secure information and communications systems, such as radio communication products, networks and infrastructure systems, protection systems, critical information systems, and information technology security solutions. Thales SA, Nexter Systems and Renault Trucks Defense's Consortium Secures Armoured Vehicles Defence Contract

The French Defence Ministry has awarded an armoured multi-role vehicles (EBMR) contract to the GME temporary consortium comprising French companies Thales, Nexter Systems and Renault Trucks Defense. Under the contract, multi-role armoured vehicles Griffon and Reconnaissance, and combat armoured vehicle Jaguar will replace the existing VAB, AMX10RC, ERC Sagaie and VAB Hot vehicles manufactured in the 1970s and 1980s and used by the French Army in operations for more than 30 years. The contract covers all stages of an armament programme, from development to logistic support, qualification and production of systems. The deal is part of a project by France's General Directorate for Armament (DGA) aimed at development of the manufacturing and support of the EBMR under the Scorpion programme. Almost 2,000 vehicles and all associated logistic support equipment will be delivered to the French armed forces as of 2018.

Japan Airlines Picks Thales Entertainment System for New Dreamliner

Thales announced Japan Airlines has equipped the B787-8 Dreamliner that entered into service with the latest generation of Thales's Android-based in-flight entertainment system AVANT. AVANT has been selected by 15 airlines worldwide for their last-generation aircraft, but Japan Airlines is the first Asian carrier to choose the system. Japan Airlines has ordered 15 B787 aircraft, all featuring the AVANT system. In addition to the B787, Thales systems are available on Japan Airlines' B767 and B777 planes serving both domestic and international destinations.

VT MÄK and Antycip Simulation to Provide Thales with the MÄK High-performance RTI in a Multi-year Corporate-wide Agreement

VT MÄK and Antycip Simulation announced that VT MÄK, Antycip Simulation, and Thales have entered into a multi-year corporate-wide agreement to provide the MÄK RTI to Thales. With the MÄK RTI, Thales will provide High Level Architecture (HLA) Evolved and HLA 1.3 compatibility to their range of simulations for training, experimentation, and demonstration. The MÄK RTI is a proven solution that enables HLA federations to rapidly and efficiently communicate. It has been chosen for both large and small federations because of its support for a wide variety of network topologies and architectures, ease of configuration, high performance, and its range of supported platforms.
