harris corp (HRS) Key Developments

Harris Corporation Wins $19 Million Tactical Radio IDIQ Contract from US Air Force Special Operations Command

Harris Corporation has been awarded a $19 million IDIQ contract to provide the Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC) with up to 1,500 Falcon III(R) AN/PRC-152A wideband radios and accessories. The AN/PRC-152A is a key component of AFSOC's communication system, providing mission critical ground-to-air communications and enhanced situational awareness of the battlefield. The wideband tactical radios meet current and emerging mission requirements using a full suite of integrated line-of-sight, beyond-line-of-sight and wideband communications. Harris Falcon III wideband tactical radios provide unprecedented situational awareness on the battlefield by delivering critical real-time tactical information to warfighters on the move.

U.S. Department of Defens Places Second Order for Harris Corporation's Falcon III(R) Multi-Channel Manpack Radios

Harris Corporation has received an order from the U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) for its Falcon III(R) RF-340M multi-channel manpack, the smallest, lightest and most capable next-generation tactical radio. The RF-340M integrates two radio channels into a single chassis, allowing users to operate simultaneously on multiple networks for enhanced command and control. The radio also includes an expansion slot capable of adding capabilities to address emerging and unique mission needs in areas such as higher-speed wideband networking, satellite communications and intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance. Harris developed the multi-channel manpack to exceed the requirements of the DOD's Handheld, Manpack, Small Form Factor tactical radio program, with additional capabilities to address all branches of the DOD. Each of the two radio channels will host all required U.S. government wideband and narrowband waveforms, including the next-generation narrowband Mobile User Objective System waveform, without the need for add-on hardware modules. It also supports multi-channel cross-banding and requires only a single battery, minimizing size and weight for the dismounted soldier.

Harris Corporation Receives $88 Million Order from Nation in Middle East for Wideband Tactical Communications System

Harris Corporation has received an $88 million order to provide a country in the Middle East with Falcon III(R) wideband tactical radios and accessories as part of an overall modernization effort. The system leverages the latest software-defined radios from the Harris Falcon III(R) RF-7800 family. This includes the RF-7800H, the first wideband HF tactical radio, delivering expanded data capabilities for long-range, beyond-line-of-sight environments; the RF-7850M, for wideband mobile ad-hoc networking; and the RF-7800S, a lightweight soldier personal radio for full-duplex voice and data communications over 2 kilometers. The order also includes vehicular and base station systems, accessories, spares, and training services.
