Icon Energy Limited Announces Unconventional Shale Gas Exploration Update

Icon Energy Limited announced that the Etty-1 vertical exploration well in ATP 855 reached a total depth of 3,807 metres in the top of the Patchawarra Formation on 23 March 2014. Preliminary interpretation of wireline logs indicate the target interval to be gas saturated. Etty-1 will be cased and suspended for fracture stimulation and production testing, to assess the deliverability potential of the basin centred play. Etty-1 is the sixth and final exploration well drilled in the current campaign in ATP 855.

Icon Energy Limited reported consolidated earnings results for the half year ended Dec. 31, 2013. For the period, the company reported loss before income tax of AUD 2,854,942 compared to AUD 8,682,969 a year ago. Loss attributable to owners of the parent entity was AUD 2,854,942 or 0.52 cents per basic and diluted share compared to AUD 5,663,288 or 1.17 cents per basic and diluted share a year ago. Net cash used in operating activities was AUD 2,781,156 compared to AUD 413,312 a year ago. Payments for property, plant & equipment were AUD 8,251 compared to AUD 4,218 a year ago. Payments for evaluation and exploration expenditure were AUD 10,232,671 compared to AUD 1,726,363 a year ago.
