Independence Group NL engages in the mining, exploration, and development of mineral properties in Australia. It primarily explores for nickel, gold, copper, silver, and zinc concentrates. The company holds 100% interest in the Long Nickel Mine located in Kambalda in Western Australia; and a 100% interest in the Jaguar/Bentley Operation comprising the Jaguar and Bentley copper-zinc-silver underground mines and milling operation located in Western Australia. It also holds 30% joint venture interest in the Tropicana Gold Project comprising approximately 16,000 square kilometers of tenure over a 400 kilometers strike length along the Yilgarn Craton and Frazer Range Mobile Belt Collision Zone located in Western Australia; and a 100% interest in the Stockman copper-zinc-silver-gold project located in Eastern Victoria. Independence Group NL was incorporated in 2000 and is based in South Perth, Australia.

Independence Group NL announced the appointment of Mr. Tony Walsh as Company Secretary and General Manager, Corporate. Mr. Walsh will join the company's senior management team effective from 17 July 2013. Mr. Walsh joins Independence Group after seven successful years as Company Secretary of Atlas Iron Limited, where he was part of the management team that grew Atlas from an iron ore explorer to the medium sized iron ore producer. Mr. Walsh will be responsible for the company's liaison with ASX and ASIC. Mr. Adrian Di Carlo will continue as Company Secretary until further notice.

Independence Group NL announced that Managing Director, Mr. Chris Bonwick, is currently on personal leave. The board expects MR. Bonwick to return to work during April. For the duration of Mr. Bonwick’s leave, Mr. Brett Hartmann, the company’s Group Operations Manager, will be Acting CEO and will assume Mr. Bonwick’s responsibilities. Mr. Brett Hartmann is a qualified Mining Engineer with over 15 years experience and has been with the company since 2004.
