IKB Deutsche Industriebank Aktiengesellschaft and Seer Capital Management LP have closed their first common fund: Valin Funds Mittelstand Mezzanine 1 (MM1). The fund has a target capitalisation of EUR 300 million, and as of the initial closing has a capitalisation of EUR 105 million. The fund will primarily invest in mezzanine loans to German Mittelstand companies with annual sales above EUR 50 million. Typical investment situations are expansions and internationalisations, capital restructurings or follow-up financings. The loans can be arranged for the specific situation of a potential borrower. Loan pricing typically also includes a profit participation. A loan size of EUR 3 million to EUR 15 million is anticipated. Up to 20 % of the portfolio can be allocated to Austrian and Swiss corporates.
IKB Deutsche Industriebank Aktiengesellschaft announced consolidated earnings results for the six months ended September 30, 2012. For the period, the company reported net interest income of EUR 58.0 million against EUR 79.8 million a year ago, as a result of the low interest rates due to the crisis, the reduction in holdings as a result of the EU conditions up until autumn 2011 and the repayment of SoFFin-guaranteed bonds. Net other operating income was EUR 24.3 million against EUR 42.0 million a year ago. Operating result was negative at EUR 69.2 million against EUR 311.8 million a year ago. Consolidated net loss was EUR 77.7 million against EUR 312.0 million a year ago. Net interest income after provisions for possible loan losses was EUR 46.1 million against EUR 106.2 million a year ago. Net loss from financial instruments at fair value was EUR 11.4 million against EUR 272.6 million a year ago. Net income from investment securities was EUR 29.1 million against net loss from investment securities of EUR 9.7 million a year ago, largely as a result of gains on the disposal of portfolio investments and other non-current assets. .
