Through advanced analytics, visualization and data sharing across multiple systems and imaging scan types, the latest version of the Philips IntelliSpace Portal offers radiologists a more integrated view of each patient moving along the health continuum and the ability to create faster pathways to definitive diagnosis for referring physicians. Royal Philips and Netherlands Cancer Institute Partner to Enhance Cancer Care

Royal Philips and the Netherlands Cancer Institute have expanded their long-term collaboration with a new agreement to offer personalized care to cancer patients. The agreement will give the only Comprehensive Cancer Centre in the Netherlands access to the latest healthcare innovations to contribute to the institute's spearheads: personalized medicine and image guided precision treatment. The Netherlands Cancer Institute and Philips will be working closely together to realize a paradigm shift in the surgical treatment of cancer patients to improve their treatment outcomes. They aim to advance from 'standard' surgical procedures towards personalized precision surgery to enable improved first-time-right removal of all tumor tissue. To this end, the agreement includes an innovative hybrid suite, a combination of a sterile conventional operating room with a lab for image guided therapies. It offers an integrated and comprehensive solution in which a wide range of procedures can be performed from conventional surgery to new live 3D image guided therapies. The Netherlands Cancer Institute also joins a group of early adopters with the commercial installation of the new Philips Vereos - the world's first and only digital PET/CT system - that through its digital detector technology offers high image resolution at low radiation dose. It will support the Netherlands Cancer Institute enhancing cancer diagnosis and staging and advancing personalized medicine in oncology. The new agreement expands the existing research collaboration between the organizations, which has been in place since 2011.

Philips Launches New Patient in-bore Solution for MRI Scans

Royal Philips has launched the Ambient Experience patient in-bore solution designed to reduce patient anxiety and movement during magnetic resonance imaging, or MRI, examinations. The patient in-bore solution is the latest innovation in Philips' successful Ambient Experience portfolio, which integrates dynamic lighting, projection, sound, spatial design and workflow improvements to enable hospitals to create engaging, comfortable patient environments. From the moment a patient is moved into the scanner - the point at which people report the most anxiety - through the conclusion of the examination, the Philips solution surrounds patients with engaging visuals. Patients can also listen to music and other sounds through headphones. The soothing audio and visual elements can help patients to relax and hold still during their scan. The new patient in-bore solution is an addition to the Philips Ambient Experience for MRI portfolio and is available for Ingenia and Achieva MRI systems.
