For financial investments, the firm acquires minority ownership in financial holdings for shorter horizon. Investor AB was founded in 1916 and is based in Stockholm, Sweden with additional offices in Amsterdam, Netherlands; Beijing, China; Menlo Park, California; Hong Kong, China; New York, New York; and Tokyo, Japan.

Investor AB Reports Consolidated and Parent Earnings Results for the First Quarter Ended March 31, 2013

Investor AB reported consolidated and parent earnings results for the first quarter ended March 31, 2013. For the period, on consolidated basis, the company reported net sales of SEK 4,179 million compared to SEK 4,090 million reported in the same period last year. Profit before tax was SEK 16,187 million against SEK 10,977 million reported last year. Profit attributable to owners of the parent company was SEK 16,203 million or SEK 21.26 per diluted share against SEK 10,923 million or SEK 14.35 per diluted share reported last year. Cash flows from operating activities was SEK 414 million against cash used in operating activities of SEK 485 million and acquisitions of property, plant and equipment were SEK 169 million against SEK 106 million reported last year. Net debt totaled SEK 22,166 million on March 31, 2013. For the quarter, the parent company reported profit of SEK 14,802 million compared to SEK 9,630 million reported in the same period last year.
