General Employment Enterprises Inc. announced consolidated earnings results for the first quarter ended December 31, 2012. For the quarter, the company reported net revenues of $14,643,000 against $12,780,000 a year ago. Income from operations was $256,000 against $75,000 a year ago. Net income was $186,000 against $23,000 a year ago. Basic and diluted per share was $0.01. The increase in revenue was due to a significant increase in revenue from contract services and direct hire placements, which was partially offset by the loss of a major customer in the agriculture division.

General Employment Enterprises Inc. announced that it has appointed Andrew J. Norstrud as Chief Financial Officer, effective March 28, 2013. Mr. Norstrud joins General Employment Enterprises Inc. from Norco Accounting and Consulting where he concentrated his services on assisting companies with mergers and acquisitions and SEC filing requirements. Prior to Norco, Mr. Norstrud served as Chief Financial Officer for Jagged Peak Inc. and Segmentz Inc.
