Archos Releases Helium 80 4G Tablet

Archos has released its first LTE tablet, the Archos Helium 80 4G. The tablet unveiled comes in an aluminium back casing and features an 8-in IPS display, 5 MP back camera, 2 MP front camera, Qualcomm MSM8926 quad-core CPU running at 1.2 GHz, and Adreno 305 GPU, 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of storage that can be expanded up to 64 GB with a MicroSD card. The Helium 80 4G tablet runs the Android 4.3 OS and Google Chrome browser, and comes with many pre-installed apps from Google and Archos. The new tablet supports LTE Category 4, for downloads of up to 150 Mbps and uploads at 50 Mbps. It sells for GBP 199/EUR 219 from Archos online and at usual retailers.

Archos Launches 50 Neon Quad-Core Smartphone

Archos announced that it has launched the 50 Neon, a quad-core phone that comes with three interchangeable covers (black, deep blue, sunny yellow) and is available online and from retailers for EUR 99. The 50 Neon is an HSUPA phone running Android 4.2.2, with a 5-in FWVGA display, 5 megapixel camera that captures 1080 pixels video, and two Sim card slots. The Mediatek quad-core processor runs at 1.3 GHz. and the 50 Neon provides 512 MB of RAM, 6 GB of memory and a micro SD slot for up to 64 GB, It offers full access to Google's ecosystem, including Google Play, as well as Archos proprietary apps, including its well-received video player.

Archos Reports Consolidated Earnings Results for First Half Ended June 30, 2014

Archos reported consolidated earnings results for first half ended June 30, 2014. For the first half, the company reported turnover amounts to EUR 57.3 million, up by 6% compared to the first half in 2013. This increase comes mostly from the consolidation of LOGIC INSTRUMENT effective January 23, 2014, the date of acquisition by ARCHOS. Operating loss amounts to EUR 1.9 million, improving by EUR 0.4 million. Net debt with accrued interests including factoring advances was negative EUR 3,058 million as on June 30, 2014. Cash used in operations was EUR 0.9 million. Consolidated net loss was EUR 2.3 million against EUR 2 million at the same period last year.
