kent exploration inc (KEX) Key Developments

Kent Exploration Inc. Commences an Assessment Program on Graphite Intersections Encountered in Drill Core at its Alexander River Gold Project in the Reefton Goldfield, South Island, New Zealand

Kent Exploration Inc. reported that it has commenced an assessment program on graphite intersections encountered in drill core at its Alexander River Gold Project in the Reefton goldfield, South Island, New Zealand. Graphite is variably present in four diamond drill holes, over a strike length of approximately 1 kilometer. In drill hole AX005, a 43 meter graphitic interval is present from 97 meters to 140 meters down hole. In drill hole AX002, a 24 meter graphitic interval is present from 107 meters to 131 meters. In drill hole AX009, graphite is present intermittently from 128 meters to 145 meters and from 206 meters to 217 meters, while in AX003 variable graphite is present intermittently between 173 meters to 210 meters. Fine-grained graphite, primarily as veins in complexly faulted ground, occurs in a green-schist grade greywacke sequence (Greenland Group). The assessment work, consisting of re-logging, splitting and sampling is expected to be completed by mid February, 2013, with samples to be submitted to SGS Laboratories in New Zealand for graphite analysis. Results will be reported when received.

New Zealand Petroleum & Minerals Grants Exploration Permit to Kent Exploration on Lyell Gold Project in New Zealand

Kent Exploration Inc. reported that New Zealand Petroleum & Minerals has granted the Company an Exploration Permit over a portion of the Company's Lyell Gold Project that lies within the highly prolific Westcoast Gold Fields of the South Island of New Zealand. During the 2009 through 2011 work programs at Lyell, the Company essentially confirmed that the area, including the historic Red Queen Mine, the most profitable quartz-vein gold mine in the area, is highly prospective for high-grade gold mineralization. A work program on Lyell is planned from January through March, 2013. The historic Red Queen Mine has excellent potential to host significant gold mineralization. Historic production records from early mining suggest that the Red Queen Vein (RQV) may possess average grades as high as 42.86 g/t (1.4 opt) gold.

Kent Exploration Inc. Reports High Grade Copper and Gold Assay Results from Samples Taken at the Monitor Mine

Kent Exploration Inc. has received a report from Archean Star Resources Inc. about the High Grade copper and gold assay results from samples taken at the historic Monitor Mine, located approximately 30 km (17 mi) ESE from the town of Wallace, Idaho, in the historic and highly prolific Coeur D'Alene Mining District. Archean has engaged Dr. G. E. Ray, P. Geol., to conduct a National Instrument NI-43-101-Compliant Report on the Monitor Property. During a property visit to the Monitor as part of the NI-43-101 Report preparation, fifteen mineralized grab samples were taken by Dr. Ray at random locations from the historic (1910) mine waste dumps. Three samples were taken from the Richmond shaft waste dump, eight samples from the Monitor shaft waste dump, and five samples from the Richmond adit portal waste dump. The most significant sample assay reported was 13.55% Cu, with two samples assaying over 7% Cu, and two samples containing over 5% Cu. Of the fifteen samples, only two assayed less than 1% Cu. The gold assays reported were 15.45 g/t Au, 9.67 g/t Au and 3.83 g/t Au from three samples taken from near the Monitor shaft location. Anomalous gold and silver values were also reported in fourteen of the fifteen samples taken with one sample assaying 57.70 g/t silver. (Grab samples are selective by nature and are unlikely to represent average grades of the deposits). The assay results from the sampling program substantially confirms the presence of high-grade copper and gold mineralization at the Monitor. Subsequent to completing the sampling program, the company commenced clearing and making safe the portal to the Monitor adit, that is approximately 1,700 feet lower in elevation than the Monitor shaft collar at approximately 5,820 feet elevation. This was done in order to commence an underground mapping and sampling program of the adit. Historic production records from past underground exploration and development work at the Monitor Mine reported that 1,562 tons were shipped to the Tacoma smelter in the early 1900's with average reported smelter returns of 14.92% copper, (298.3 lb/ton), 23.6 g/t silver (0.76 opt Ag) and a reported average of 7.7 g/t Au (0.24 opt/Au) was produced.
