Kia Motors Corp. Plans to Build New Production Plant in Mexico

Kia Motors Corp. plans to build new production plant in Mexico to meet demand in the vast North American market. The monterrey plant not far from the border with the united states will be Kia's first production facility in the country. Kia announced the plant will have capacity to make 300,000 vehicles annually. It will produce compact soul forte subcompact and picanto minicompact car. The new plant once built will not only expand Kia's presence in Mexico but ship cars over the border to the United States.

Hyundai Steel Collaborate with Hyundai, Kia to Make Alloy Materials for Cars

Hyundai Steel is working with Hyundai Motor Co. and Kia Motors Corp. to develop light alloy materials for use in future vehicles. The cooperative effort comes as carmakers are turning to aluminum to make vehicles lighter in weight. Less weight translates into better fuel economy and enhanced driving characteristic.
