Kuala Lumpur Kepong Berhad, together with its subsidiaries, is engaged in plantation, manufacturing, property development, and investment holding business worldwide. It produces and processes palm products and natural rubber on its plantations with a land bank of approximately 250,000 hectares spread across Malaysia and Indonesia. The company’s Plantation segment is involved in the cultivation and processing of palm and rubber products, and refining of palm products, as well as in crushing kernel. Its Manufacturing segment offers oleochemicals, soap noodles, industrial amides, fatty amines, cationic surfactants, rubber gloves, parquet flooring products, pharmaceutical products, non-ionic surfactants and esters, and biofuel, as well as stores and distributes bulk liquid. The company’s Property Development segment develops residential and commercial properties. Its Others segment is involved in cereal and sheep farming; and money lending activities, as well as issues bonds. Kuala Lumpur Kepong Berhad also manufactures jams and parquet flooring products; provides offshore captive insurance; sells pharmaceutical and bio-pharmaceutical intermediates, and fine chemicals; trades in commodities; and operates holiday bungalows. The company was founded in 1906 and is headquartered in Ipoh, Malaysia.

Kuala Lumpur Kepong Berhad Announces Final Single Tier Dividend for the Financial Year Ended 30 September 2014, Payable on March 17, 2015; Reports Unaudited Consolidated Earnings Results for the Fourth Quarter and Year Ended September 30, 2014

Kuala Lumpur Kepong Berhad announced a final single tier dividend of 40 sen compared to 35 sen a year ago, per share has been recommended by the Directors in respect of the financial year ended 30 September 2014 and subject to shareholders' approval at the forthcoming Annual General Meeting, will be paid on March 17, 2015 to shareholders registered on the company's register of members as at February 23, 2015. The company reported unaudited consolidated earnings results for the fourth quarter and year ended September 30, 2014. For the quarter, the company reported revenue of MYR 2,778,140,000 against MYR 2,414,800,000 a year ago. Profit before taxation was MYR 238,618,000 against MYR 332,707,000 a year ago. Net profit for the period attributable to equity holders of the company was MYR 170,752,000 or 16.0 sen per share against MYR 258,005,000 or 24.2 sen per share a year ago. Net profit was decreased due to its manufacturing sector losses caused by reduced margins, while the oleochemical division also sank into losses. For the year, the company reported revenue of MYR 11,129,973,000 against MYR 9,147,325,000 a year ago. Profit before taxation was MYR 1,317,697,000 against MYR 1,317,697,000 a year ago. Net profit for the period attributable to equity holders of the company was MYR 991,705,000 or 93.1 sen per share against MYR 917,743,000 or 86.2 sen per share a year ago. Net cash generated from operating activities was MYR 738,951,000 against MYR 1,219,978,000 a year ago. Purchase of property, plant and equipment was MYR 754,534,000 against MYR 814,720,000 a year ago. Property development expenditure was MYR 898,000 against MYR 4,370,000 a year ago. The company attributed the better results to its plantations sector, due to reduction in production cost, better crude palm oil selling price and increased sales volume.
