Kongsberg Automotive Holding ASA develops, manufactures, and markets systems for gearshift, clutch actuation, seat comfort, stabilizing rods, couplings, and components worldwide. It operates in four segments: Driveline Systems, Interior Systems, Drive Control Systems, and Fluid Transfer Systems. The Driveline Systems segment supplies custom engineered cable controls and gear shift systems, such as shift knobs, cables, linkages, shift towers, boots, and transmission control rods; and engineered flexible fluid assemblies, and tube and hose products for customers in automotive, commercial truck and bus, and industrial markets. The Interior Systems segment designs, develops, and manufactures seat comfort systems and mechanical/electro-mechanical light duty motion control systems to automotive and original equipment manufacturers customers. This segment offers seat adjuster cables and cabling systems, lumbar supports and side bolsters, seat heating products, ventilation and massage systems, arm rests, head restraints, seat climate systems, and interior trim products. The Driver Control Systems segment designs, develops, and manufactures operator control systems, foot pedals, gearshift systems, clutch actuation, electronics and displays, advanced vehicle dynamics, and steering columns for commercial, industrial, agricultural, construction, and power sports vehicles. The Fluid Transfer Systems segment designs and manufactures fluid handling systems for the automotive and commercial vehicle sectors; coupling systems for compressed air circuits on heavy trucks; and tube and hose assemblies for various environments. Kongsberg Automotive Holding ASA also offers power electronic products comprising inverters, rectifiers, and converters. The company was founded in 1957 and is headquartered in Kongsberg, Norway.

Kongsberg Automotive Wins EUR 108 Million Contract

Kongsberg Automotive's Driveline business area has been awarded a significant supply agreement from a major North American OEM to supply Automatic Transmission Shift Cables. The Shift Cables, to be used in B and C Segment vehicles, will be produced in KA's Nuevo Laredo, Mexico and Wuxi, China production facilities and supplied to the customer's assembly plants globally. The estimated peak volume of the programs involved in these segments will reach 2.1 million cables annually by 2019 with production set to begin in the third quarter of 2016. The estimated lifetime value of the contract is EUR 108 million (NOK 902 million) over the program life, with all programs phasing in over an 8 year period.

Kongsberg Automotive Holding ASA announced consolidated earnings results for the second quarter and six months ended June 30, 2014. For the quarter, the company reported revenues of EUR 254.4 million against EUR 262.0 million a year ago. EBITDA was EUR 28.0 million against EUR 28.6 million a year ago. EBIT was EUR 17.8 million against EUR 17.7 million a year ago. Profit before taxes was EUR 9.6 million against EUR 6.1 million a year ago. Net profit was EUR 5.1 million against EUR 4.5 million a year ago. Cash flow from operating activities was EUR 27.7 million against EUR 30.9 million a year ago. For the six months, the company reported revenues of EUR 510.2 million against EUR 514.2 million a year ago. EBITDA was EUR 56.5 million against EUR 53.7 million a year ago. EBIT was EUR 35.9 million against EUR 31.1 million a year ago. Profit before taxes was EUR 24.9 million against EUR 9.2 million a year ago. Net profit was EUR 16.5 million against EUR 6.8 million a year ago. Cash flow from operating activities was EUR 41.1 million against EUR 36.2 million a year ago. Net interest-bearing debt as at June 30, 2014 was EUR 223.4 million against EUR 275.5 million as at June 30, 2013. The company provided revenue guidance for the third quarter and production and revenue guidance for 2014. For the year, the global production growth is expected to be approximately 3.6% resulting in a production volume of 87.8 million vehicles. For the third quarter, the company expects revenue of approximately EUR 230 million, mainly influenced by seasonality. For the full year 2014, the company keeps it revenue estimate in line with 2013, based on the current market assumptions.

Kongsberg Automotive Wins EUR 15.4 Million Contract with Premium OEM

Kongsberg Automotive has been awarded a seven year agreement with a European premium automaker for the supply of seat comfort systems to one of its vehicle platforms. The contract is worth an estimated EUR 15.4 million (NOK 125 million) over its lifetime, and production is scheduled to start in the first quarter of 2016 from KA's facility in Pruszkow, Poland. The vehicle platform that KA will supply to includes some of the most successful premium E-segment cars globally. KA will supply comfort systems that provide the ultimate comfort to the driver and passengers including lateral side support and lumbar support systems.
