Kongsberg Automotive ASA develops, manufactures, and markets systems for gearshift, clutch actuation, seat comfort, stabilizing rods, couplings, and components worldwide. It operates in four segments: Driveline Systems, Interior Systems, Drive Control Systems, and Fluid Transfer Systems. The Driveline Systems segment supplies custom engineered cable controls and gear shift systems, such as shift knobs, cables, linkages, shift towers, boots, and transmission control rods; and engineered flexible fluid assemblies, and tube and hose products for customers in automotive, commercial truck and bus, and industrial markets. The Interior Systems segment designs, develops, and manufactures seat comfort systems and mechanical/electro-mechanical light duty motion control systems to automotive and original equipment manufacturers customers. This segment offers seat adjuster cables and cabling systems, lumbar supports and side bolsters, seat heating products, ventilation and massage systems, arm rests, head restraints, seat climate systems, and interior trim products. The Driver Control Systems segment designs, develops, and manufactures operator control systems, foot pedals, gearshift systems, clutch actuation, electronics and displays, advanced vehicle dynamics, and steering columns for commercial, industrial, agricultural, construction, and power sports vehicles. The Fluid Transfer Systems segment designs and manufactures fluid handling systems for the automotive and commercial vehicle sectors; coupling systems for compressed air circuits on heavy trucks; and tube and hose assemblies for various environments. Kongsberg Automotive Holding ASA also offers power electronic products comprising inverters, rectifiers, and converters. The company was formerly known as Kongsberg Automotive Holding ASA and changed its name to Kongsberg Automotive ASA in August 2014. Kongsberg Automotive ASA was founded in 1957 and is headquartered in Kongsberg, Norway.

Kongsberg Automotive Announces Management Changes

Kongsberg Automotive has appointed Lovisa Soderholm as executive vice president, or EVP, of purchasing, Anders Nystrom as executive vice president of interior systems, Scott Paquette as executive vice president of driver control systems and Philippe Toth as senior vice president of business development and investor relations. Lovisa comes from the position of Business Excellence Director and Chief Purchasing Officer for Direct Materials in SKF. Lovisa, who will be based in Gothenburg, will be part of Kongsberg Automotive's Executive Committee. Anders, formerly EVP Purchasing, moves from Purchasing to run KA's Interior business where brings his solid OEM experience from Ford and Volvo, and will continue to focus on delivering profitable growth and launching the new innovations and next generation products. Scott Paquette, formerly EVP Interior, moves from KA's Interior business to head DCS.

Kongsberg Automotive Receives Nomination for Driveline Contract for Manual Shifters in Europe

Kongsberg Automotive's Driveline business area has received nomination from a major European OEM to supply complete manual gear shifter systems. The shifter systems will be used in B Segment cars which will be sold in Europe under two different brands. The contract has an estimated total value of EUR 30 million (NOK 264 million) over its 4 year duration. Production from KA's facilities in Cluses, France will start in the second half of 2017 with peak volumes expected in 2019.

Kongsberg Automotive's Driveline Business Area Wins EUR 33 Million Worth Contracts

Kongsberg Automotive's Driveline business area has won two contracts worth an estimated total of EUR 33 million (NOK 286 million) over their durations. The first contract, from a Joint Venture of a major North American OEM, is for automatic transmission shifters to be used in a B Segment SUV which will be sold in the Chinese market. The unique design of this shifter will make it compatible with multiple transmissions and thereby provide platform flexibility to customer. The shifters will be manufactured at Kongsberg Automotive's facility in Wuxi, China, with production supply scheduled to start in the first quarter of 2016. The contract has a total value of EUR 20 million over 7 years. The second contract is from a major Global OEM for the supply of both manual shifter systems and automatic transmission cables to be used in a light commercial vehicle, which will be manufactured in Europe. The value of the contract is EUR 13 million over 4 years and production supply will start in the second quarter of 2015 from the company's facility in Vrable, Slovakia. The products in this contract are derived from the current product scope to this customer, hence the short lead time to start of production.
