In addition, it offers its products using a network of brokers and agents. The company was formerly known as Lagos State Assurance Company Limited and changed its name to LASACO Assurance Plc in July 1988. LASACO Assurance Plc was incorporated in 1979 and is headquartered in Lagos, Nigeria.

LASACO Assurance Plc is seeking acquisitions before the end of 2011 to boost market share and capital base. Edward Akin Leigh, chairman, said: "our company is set to further expand our capital base and market shareholding by exploring various business combinations, merger, acquisitions opportunities." He hinted that "these programs include, among others, the adoption of the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), Enterprise Risk Management (ERM), Quality Management System (QMS), as well as merger and acquisitions in our quest to stay the course of leading edge of innovation, transformation and corporate governance in our operations."
