Legal & General Group Plc provides various insurance products and services worldwide. It operates in five segments: Legal & General Assurance Society (LGAS), Legal & General Retirement (LGR), Legal & General Investment Management (LGIM), Legal & General America (LGA), and Legal & General Capital (LGC). The LGAS segment offers individual and group insurance protection products; general insurance, including household and accident, sickness and unemployment products; unit and index linked savings products, bank based investment accounts and corporate pension products; savings products; individual and corporate pensions; endowment policies; with-profits bonds; and participating contracts. The LGR segment provides deferred annuity contracts with guaranteed minimum pensions; and longevity insurance products for company pension schemes. The LGIM segment offers index fund management; active fixed income and liquidity management; solution and liability driven investment; active equity; and real estate funds. The LGC segment manages portfolios of equity, property, bond, and other direct investments; and offers investments focuses on the infrastructure, commercial lending, property and asset finance, as well as treasury services to group entities. The LGA segment provides life insurance plans to individuals, savings and death benefits, and annuities. The LGC segment invests in the assets and dividends remitted from its international businesses. The company is also involved in treasury operations, institutional fund management activities, reinsurance business, as well as providing property, equity, mixed asset, fixed interest, and debt security unit trust products. Legal & General Group Plc was founded in 1836 and is based in London, the United Kingdom.

Legal & General Group plc Announces Management Changes

Legal & General Group Plc announced the retirement of John Pollock as Executive Director and CEO of the Legal & General Assurance Society, or LGAS, division, effective May 21, 2015. Legal & General has also announced management changes in relation to its LGAS Insurance, Corporate and Savings businesses. Duncan Finch, current MD of Insurance, will run the enlarged business and report to Nigel Wilson, Group CEO from 1 January 2015. The Corporate business will continue to be headed by Jim Islam, who will join Mark Zinkula's, CEO LGIM, senior management team. He will continue to be responsible for Cofunds, IPS, Suffolk Life, and the new digital direct customer proposition. Jackie and Mike will continue to report to John Pollock until the end of March, and subsequently they will report to Nigel Wilson; Chris Knight, CFO for LGAS will now report to Group CFO Mark Gregory. He will assume responsibility for Procurement and Facilities.

Legal & General Group plc Appoints Carolyn Bradley as an Independent Non-Executive Director

The Board of Legal & General Group Plc announced the appointment of Carolyn Bradley as an independent non-executive director of the Company. The appointment will take effect immediately. Carolyn has a strong consumer focused background having worked at Tesco from 1986 until 2013. During this time, Carolyn held a range of senior positions in various roles including Chief Operating Officer, Tesco.com, Marketing Director, UK and most recently, as Group Brand Director. Carolyn is currently a non-executive director of Marston's PLC. Carolyn will join the Nominations Committee and the Remuneration Committee.

Legal & General Announces a Series of Management Changes

Legal & General has announced a series of management changes in relation to its LGAS insurance, corporate and savings businesses. The changes have been made after the group decided that there will be no direct replacement for Legal & General Assurance Society chief executive John Pollock after he steps down at the annual general meeting on 21 May. L&G says that Pollock brought unique skills and over 35 years of business expertise to the group and, as such, it has been decided there will be no direct replacement for him on the board. The new business structure is as follows: Insurance: Group Protection will move from Corporate and join the Insurance business to form an insurance centre of excellence for customers with increased scale and expertise. Duncan Finch, current MD of Insurance, will run the enlarged business and report to Nigel Wilson, Group CEO from 1 January 2015. Corporate: The workplace Defined Contribution platform will move to LGIM. It will continue to be headed by Jim Islam, who will join Mark Zinkula's, CEO LGIM, senior management team. Savings: Savings will be split into 2 businesses; Mature and Digital. Jackie Noakes, previously Chief Operating Officer for LGAS and Group IT Director, will become the MD of the Mature Savings Division, consisting of insured savings and with-profit businesses. Digital Savings will be managed by Mike Bury. He will continue to be responsible for Cofunds, IPS, Suffolk Life, and the new digital direct customer proposition. Jackie and Mike will continue to report to John Pollock until the end of March, and subsequently they will report to Nigel Wilson. Group Finance: Chris Knight, CFO for LGAS will now report to group CFO Mark Gregory. He will assume responsibility for Procurement.
