Lucara Diamond Corp. Reports Earnings and Production Results for the Fourth Quarter and Full Year Ended December 31, 2013; Provides Revenue and Production Guidance for the Year 2014

Lucara Diamond Corp. reported earnings results for the fourth quarter and full year ended December 31, 2013. For the quarter, the company reported net income of $21.4 million or $0.05 per basic share ob revenues of $58.7 million compared to net loss of $4.1 million or $0.01 per basic share ob revenues of $29.1 million a year ago. EBITDA was $32.8 million compared to $12.9 million a year ago. Cash flow from operations before working capital adjustments was $33.9 million compared to $3.8 million a year ago. For the full year, the company reported net income of $65.2 million or $0.17 per basic share ob revenues of $180.5 million compared to net loss of $7.5 million or $0.02 per basic share ob revenues of $41.8 million a year ago. EBITDA was $102.9 million compared to $12.9 million a year ago. Cash flow from operations before working capital adjustments was $99.6 million compared to $3.8 million a year ago. The also reported production results for the fourth quarter ended December 31, 2013. For the quarter, the company reported production of ore mined of 918,765 tonnes, waste mined of 1,694,134 tonnes, average grade processed of 18.9 cpht and carats recovered of 116,061 carats compared to production of ore mined of 701,931 tonnes, waste mined of 1,267,343 tonnes, average grade processed of 25.4 cpht and carats recovered of 138,487 carats a year ago. The company provided revenue and production guidance for the year 2014. The company expects that Karowe is forecast to process 2.2-2.4 million tonnes of ore and to produce and sell 400,000 to 420,000 carats of diamond in 2014. Ore mined is forecast between 3.0 - 3.5 million tonnes and waste mined is expected to be between 10.0 - 11.0 million tonnes. Revenue is forecast between $150 million to $160 million. Capital expenditures include between $45-$50 million for Karowe's plant upgrade to improve large diamond recovery following the occurrence of exceptional stones, and to enable sustainable processing of hard ore in the south lobe. Sustaining capital expenditures is forecast at $3.5 million.
