MBB Industries AG is a private equity firm specializing in middle market, later stage, mature, turnaround, emerging growth, and acquisitions of established medium-sized industrial companies. It seeks to invest in business service, industrials, consumer, and Information Technology. The firm makes investments in companies seeking to sell off a part of the company, or the entire operation, perhaps as part of a succession process; selling a subdivision or an affiliated company that no longer forms part of the organization's core business; and seeking for a management buyout or buy-in. It focuses on industrial companies and does not restrict its investments to certain industries. The firm typically invests in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, other European countries, and business that takes place or originates in the German-speaking region. But can make add-ons outside such regions as well. It typically invests between €1 million ($1.27 million) and €50 million ($63.98 million) in companies with enterprise value between €2 million ($2.55 million) and €50 million ($63.98 million), sales value between €2 million ($2.55 million) and €200 million ($255.95 million), and EBITDA between 0 and €20 million ($25.59 million). The firm targets majority interests in its portfolio companies with 100 percent or a minimum holding of 75.1 per cent. It may also arrange for the seller or co-shareholder to retain a minority holding in the company. The firm does not have a fixed period with regard to its investments and considers selling its investment only when a potential buyer offers a price that is higher than the firm’s estimation. It may also consider working with a broker for a company acquisition. The firm makes balance sheet investments. MBB Industries AG was founded in 1995 and is based in Berlin, Germany.

MBB Industries AG Reports Consolidated Earnings Results for the First Quarter of 2013

MBB Industries AG reported consolidated earnings results for the first quarter of 2013. For the period, revenues increased by 77% to EUR 55.5 million from EUR 31.4 million during the same period in 2012. Beside the good performance of all existing portfolio companies a major contribution came from MBB Fertigungstechnik which was acquired at the end of first quarter of 2012 and therefore not included in first quarter revenues 2012. Adjusted for extraordinary income from first consolidation of MBB Fertigungstechnik in first quarter of 2012 the operating income increased by 125% to EUR 3.3 million following EUR 1.5 million in 2012. Including this extraordinary income from last year's first-time consolidation the group's earnings would have been EUR 3.2 million for first quarter of 2012. Earnings per share improved to EUR 0.51 after EUR 0.49 in the first quarter 2012.

For the year, on consolidated basis, the company's EBT was €17.89 million compared to €4.6 million reported a year ago. Revenue was €204.9 million compared to €109.6 million in 2011. For the year, on parent basis, the company reported revenue of €1.0 million from the performance of management services for group companies compared to €0.5 million reported a year ago. Net profit was €1.2 million compared to €1.1 million reported a year ago. For 2013, the company is forecasting higher revenue and a similar operating result to 2012.
