The company offers software that allows companies to develop, test, deploy, assess, and modernize business-critical enterprise applications. The company also offers RUMBA, a terminal emulation and user interface modernization toolset, which include Micro Focus OnWeb, Micro Focus RUMBA, and Micro Focus Web-to-Host; and VisiBroker, a CORBA middleware and application server comprising VisiBroker and AppServer. In addition, it provides professional services comprising value profile day services; test process, portfolio, language, platform, and resource modernization services; test data management; value assurance; health check; field development solutions; software process improvement; project review services; customer care and education; and training services. Micro Focus International plc was founded in 1976 and is headquartered in Newbury, the United Kingdom.

Micro Focus International plc announced that in line with the company's dividend policy the proposed final dividend for the year is 28.1 cents per share versus 23.4 cents per share of 2012, giving an increase in total dividend per share for the year of 26.6% to 40.0 cents versus 31.6 cents of 2012. Combined with the return of value this final dividend, if approved, will bring the total cash return to shareholders attributable to financial year 2013 of 118.8 cents versus 101.0 cents of 2012 per share. If approved by shareholders, the final dividend will be paid on October 2, 2013 to shareholders on the register on September 6, 2013. Dividends will be paid in sterling equivalent to 17.90 pence per share, based on an exchange rate of £1 = $1.57, being the rate applicable on June 18, 2013, the date on which the board resolved to propose the dividend.
