MedAssets, Inc., a financial and performance improvement company, provides technology-enabled products and services for hospitals, health systems, and other ancillary healthcare providers in the United States. It operates in two segments, Spend and Clinical Resource Management (SCM) and Revenue Cycle Management (RCM). The SCM segment provides a suite of cost management services, supply chain analytics, and data capabilities; strategic sourcing and group purchasing services; medical device and clinical resource consulting services; lean performance improvement services; workforce management; and supply chain outsourcing and procurement services. This segment is also involved in the provision of business intelligence and decision support tool services. The RCM segment offers a suite of software as a service or Web-based software and technology-enabled services, which address various revenue cycle processes comprising patient access and financial responsibility, clinical documentation, charge capture and revenue integrity, pricing analysis, claims processing, denials management and reimbursement integrity, payer contract management, extended business office revenue recovery, accounts receivable services, and outsourcing services. As of December 31, 2013, the company served approximately 4,400 acute care hospitals and approximately 122,000 ancillary or non-acute provider locations. MedAssets, Inc. was incorporated in 1999 and is headquartered in Alpharetta, Georgia.

Contract Analytics provides dynamic access to critical revenue cycle data to enable executives and front-line associates alike to gain timely insights into reimbursement trends, recognize issues and variances in payor performance, and identify impacts to operational goals. Tool features include: Data aggregation from multiple sources including data from MedAssets Contract Management product and the health system's patient accounting system(s). Standard and ad hoc reporting capabilities that leverage hundreds of revenue cycle data elements to enable root cause analysis in minutes. MedAssets unveiled the upgraded version of Decision Support Costing and Contracting, a business intelligence tool that combines clinical, operational and financial system data from across care settings. With this MedAssets platform, health systems can drive more informed financial, operational, clinical and strategic planning decisions on a daily basis. MedAssets is showcasing the new version of Decision Support Costing and Contracting at the 2014 HFMA National Institute, June 22-25 in Las Vegas (Booth #412). The new version of Decision Support Costing and Contracting is in response to a convergence of economic, regulatory and social factors creating increased business need for providers to better measure costs over the full cycle of patient care. Featuring a new technology platform, an enhanced user interface and a flexible analytics suite, Decision Support Costing and Contracting synthesizes information from the hospital's patient accounting system, enterprise resource planning and other health system data from both inpatient and outpatient settings.
