Mondelez International, Inc., together with its subsidiaries, manufactures and markets snack food and beverage products worldwide. The company offers biscuits, including cookies, crackers, and salted snacks; confectionery products, such as chocolates, gums, and candies; powdered beverages and coffee; and cheese and grocery products. Its primary brand portfolio includes Oreo, Nabisco, and LU branded biscuits; Milka, Cadbury Dairy Milk, and Cadbury branded chocolates; Trident branded gums; Jacobs branded coffee; and Tang branded powdered beverages. The company sells its products to supermarket chains, wholesalers, supercenters, club stores, mass merchandisers, distributors, convenience stores, gasoline stations, drug stores, value stores, and other retail food outlets directly, as well as through independent sales offices and agents. The company was formerly known as Kraft Foods Inc. and changed its name to Mondelez International, Inc. in October 2012. Mondelez International, Inc. was incorporated in 2000 and is headquartered in Deerfield, Illinois.

Mondelez International, Inc. announced consolidated unaudited earnings results for the first quarter ended March 31, 2013. For the quarter, the company reported net revenues of $8,744 million against $8,667 million a year ago. Operating income was $834 million against $903 million a year ago. Earnings from continuing operations before income taxes were $555 million against $416 million a year ago. Earnings from continuing operations were $574 million against $339 million a year ago. Net earnings were $574 million against $819 million a year ago. Net earnings attributable to company were $568 million against $813 million a year ago. Net earnings attributable to company per diluted share were $0.32 against $0.46 a year ago. Diluted earnings per share attributable to company from continuing operations were $0.32 against $0.19 a year ago. The company announced that it expects a strong rebound in the back half of the year and it remain on track to deliver organic net revenue growth at the low end of its long-term growth target of 5% to 7% in 2013. The company raising operating earnings per share outlook to $1.55 to $1.60, as it flow through a portion of the benefit from discrete tax items.
Peace Corps is announcing a strategic partnership with Mondelez International, Inc. to strengthen sustainable agriculture and community development efforts in countries around the world. The first partnership initiative will launch in the Dominican Republic this year and will focus on the development of business and entrepreneurial skills in youth through the "Build Your Dreams" training program. Through the partnership, the Peace Corps will work with Mondelez International to build upon the successful activities of community development volunteers in the Dominican Republic. Through Build Your Dreams programs, Peace Corps volunteers help youth in host communities build entrepreneurial skills, such as financial literacy and market research. The Build Your Dreams curriculum comprises 14 business-oriented lessons followed by regional conferences, where participating youth get help writing a business plan.
