mentor graphics corp (MENT) Key Developments

Imagination Technologies Selects Mentor Graphics Corp.'s Veloce Emulation Platform for IP Verification Based on Performance and Capacity

Mentor Graphics Corp. announced that Imagination Technologies has adopted the Veloce 2 enterprise emulation platform to complement its existing emulation and verification infrastructure. The Veloce 2 emulation platform is the latest-generation hardware emulator from Mentor that reduces project schedules and costs by delivering high-performance simulation accelerations, virtualized emulation, and traditional in-circuit emulation of complex SoC designs. The Veloce 2 platform achieves these benefits through a unique emulation-on-chip architecture and best-in-class software and hardware technologies, delivering fast compiles, full debug visibility, power aware and analysis tools, and advanced memory modeling. Additionally, protocol solutions provide off-the-shelf portfolios of easy-to-use verification IPs (VIPs), ICE applications (iSolve), and VirtuaLAB components that are an essential part of verifying both IP and SoC-based designs, delivering high levels of productivity and ROI to the end user.

Mentor Graphics Corp. Announces Mentor Graphics Enterprise Verification Platform

Mentor Graphics Corp. announced the Mentor(R) Enterprise Verification Platform (EVP), which combines Questa(R) advanced verification solutions, Veloce(R) OS3 global emulation resourcing technology, and Visualizer(TM), a powerful debug environment, into a globally accessible, high-performance datacenter resource. The Mentor EVP features global resource management that supports project teams around the world, maximizing both user productivity and total verification return on investment. The Mentor EVP delivers performance and productivity improvements ranging from 400X to 10,000X. The OS3 Enterprise Server efficiently manages the global emulation resources, consolidating them to commercial queue managers as a single, high-capacity entity. The Enterprise Server determines the most efficient location to run each job and immediately serves high-priority jobs by temporarily suspending jobs of lower priority. Veloce OS3 also delivers advanced verification features to the emulator including PSL/SystemVerilog assertions, functional coverage, and UPF for low power. This enables a high-performance coverage closure flow and pre-silicon performance analysis of critical SoC subsystems running application software. To maximize testbench reuse, the Mentor Verification IP, built using standard UVM/RTL, is designed for both simulation and acceleration modes. These capabilities are in place for a smooth transition from simulation to emulation, allowing for a 1000X performance boost over simulation alone with no loss of functionality.

LEONI Expands Use of Mentor Graphics Capital Software Worldwide

Mentor Graphics Corp. announced that LEONI is expanding its use of Capital® software throughout the world. LEONI now has significant Capital software deployments in Europe, America and Pacific Rim. This growth is driven in part by increasing adoption of the modular approach to wire harness configuration management, also known as customer-specific or zero give-away harnessing. This approach is strongly supported by the Mentor® Capital ModularXC™ tool, which in turn is tightly linked with other products in the Capital suite and with adjacent applications such as mechanical CAD applications.
