The lower consolidated revenues in 2014 are attributable to the PHP 9.3 billion downward adjustment of pass-through charges on Meralco's purchases from the Wholesale Electricity Spot Market billed by the Philippine Electricity Market Corporation based on a March 3, 2014 Order of the Energy Regulatory Commission, foregone revenues on the volume of contestable customers served by other retail electricity suppliers under Retail Competition and Open Access, and lower system loss charge. The company remains hopeful of growth in the full-year core profit. It expects full-year performance to take a hit from the impact of typhoon Glenda (international name: Rammasun).
