The company’s System Director Operating System provides centralized coordination and control of various access points on the network. It also offers controllers that synchronize access points to optimize the user experience and manage traffic on the network; Wi-Fi certified access points, which provides network connectivity for wireless devices; and Identity Manager that simplifies enterprise network access and identity management. In addition, the company provides Meru Networks E(z)RF application suite comprising E(z)RF Network Manager, E(z)RF Service Assurance Manager, and Spectrum Manager, which enable enterprises to configure, monitor, troubleshoot, secure, and operate virtualized wireless LAN solution; Wireless Intrusion prevention System that detects wireless intrusions with predefined and custom signatures on an integrated platform with other WLAN management applications; and PCI Compliance Manager, which audits and verifies WLAN security to ensure payment card industry compliance. Further, it offers SA200 and SA2000 Services Appliances that provides the hardware platform for the company’s applications focused on WLAN management and security. Additionally, the company provides support services related to its products, professional services, and training. It serves education, healthcare, hospitality, manufacturing, retail, technology, finance, government, telecom, transportation, and utilities markets. Meru Networks, Inc. reported unaudited consolidated earnings results for the first quarter ended March 31, 2013. For the quarter, the company reported total revenues of $24,735,000 against $19,411,000 a year ago. Loss from operations was $2,773,000 against $14,357,000 a year ago. Loss before provision for income taxes was $3,445,000 against $14,358,000 a year ago. Net loss was $3,583,000 against $14,487,000 a year ago. Net loss per share of common stock, basic and diluted was $0.18 against $0.82 a year ago. Non-GAAP net loss was $2,012,000 against $8,922,000 a year ago. Non-GAAP net loss per share of common stock, basic and diluted was $0.10 against $0.50 a year ago. Non-GAAP loss from operations was $1,247,000 against $8,792,000 a year ago. Net cash provided by operating activities was $1,036,000 against net cash used in operating activities of 10,115,000 a year ago. Purchases of property and equipment were $156,000 against $375,000 a year ago. Now on to guidance, second quarter is traditionally a seasonally stronger quarter for its business than first quarter and therefore the company is expecting a sequential growth in revenue of approximately 3% to 15% of revenue range of $25.5 million to $28.5 million. The company expects non-GAAP gross margins to be in the 63.5% to 64.5% range, a sequential improvement from first quarter. The company expects gross margins to continue to improve through out the year on the way to its long-term goal of 65% to 68%. The company expects operating expenses to increase sequentially from first quarter. Based on these estimates, the company expects second quqarter non-GAAP net loss of $1.2 million to $3.0 million or $0.05 to $0.14 per share based on the share count of approximately 22.2 million shares. This represents an over 50% reduction in the non-GAAP net loss from second quarter last year at the mid-point. For the last quarter, the company gave a guidance range of $110 million to $120 million for the year.

Meru Networks and Westcon Group Extend Distribution of Solutions Based on Meru's MobileFLEX Architecture Into Mexico and Brazil

Meru Networks, Inc. announced that Westcon Group will expand its distribution of Meru virtualized Wi-Fi solutions, based on the Meru(R) MobileFLEX(TM) architecture, into Mexico and Brazil, effective immediately. The two companies will now have distribution arrangements in more than 17 countries, including the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Spain, Italy, Mexico and Brazil.
