It operates in six segments: Retail; Group, Voluntary & Worksite Benefits; Corporate Benefit Funding; Latin America; Asia; and Europe, the Middle East and Africa. The company provides variable, universal, term, and whole life products; individual disability income products; personal lines property and casualty insurance, including private passenger automobile, homeowners, and personal excess liability insurance; and variable and fixed annuities for asset accumulation and distribution needs, as well as mutual funds and other securities products. It also offers group insurance products, such as variable, universal, and term life products; dental, group short- and long-term disability, and accidental death and dismemberment coverages; and voluntary and worksite products consisting of personal lines property and casualty insurance, as well as LTC, prepaid legal plans, and critical illness products. In addition, the company provides annuity and investment products comprising guaranteed interest products and other stable value products, income annuities, and separate account contracts for the investment management of defined benefit and defined contribution plan assets; and structured settlements and products to fund postretirement benefits and company-, bank- or trust-owned life insurance, as well as health insurance, group medical, credit insurance, endowment, retirement, and savings products. It serves individuals and corporations, as well as other institutions and their employees. The company sells its products through sales forces, third-party organizations, independent agents, and property and casualty specialists, as well as through career agency, bancassurance, direct marketing, brokerage, and e-commerce channels. MetLife, Inc. was founded in 1863 and is based in New York, New York.

MetLife Takes Another Floor at Woodward Building in Ballantyne

MetLife Inc. has exercised its option to take the fifth floor of the Woodward building in Ballantyne Corporate Park. With the additional 28,371 square feet, MetLife will have 15 floors totaling approximately 426,000 square feet at the twin Gragg and Woodward buildings in the south Charlotte office park. MetLife occupies the entire 10-story Gragg Building and will now have the first five floors in Woodward. The twin buildings are at the northwest corner of Ballantyne Commons Parkway and North Community House Road.

Metlife And Allstate Reportedly Plans To Acquire Normandale Lake Office Park

MetLife, Inc. (NYSE:MET) And The Allstate Corporation (NYSE:ALL) are proceeding on plans to acquire Normandale Lake Office Park in Bloomington, according to sources familiar with the deal who declined to be named to protect client relationships. The estoppel lists the buyer as ML-AI Normandale LLC at 125 S. Wacker Drive, Suite 1100 in Chicago, which is a Metlife office. Minneapolis / St. Paul Business Journal reported Metlife was the buyer in September 2014. Equity Group Investments put the park up for sale this summer. Equity Group spokeswoman declined to comment and officials with Metlife and Allstate declined to comment, reported Minneapolis / St. Paul Business Journal.

MetLife, Inc. and Emirates NBD to Provide Life Insurance Solutions in UAE

MetLife, Inc. and Emirates NBD have announced a strategic partnership to provide life insurance solutions to the bank's customers in the UAE. The partnership will offer a comprehensive range of products to help customers save towards their goals such as children's education, marriage or retirement as well as ensure the family is protected against unforeseen events. The tie-up will also offer life insurance solutions to help businesses address their and their employees' protection needs. The new bancassurance partnership agreement will extend MetLife's entire portfolio of innovative insurance products, including personal and corporate life insurance policies, to Emirates NBD customers. The agreement covers the marketing and distribution of MetLife products by the bank to its customers in the UAE.
