Manulife Financial Seeks Acquisitions

Manulife Financial Corporation (TSX:MFC) is seeking acquisitions. Donald Guloien, President and Chief Executive Officer of Manulife, said, “But the other is true, we don't want to have to go to market unnecessarily in order to fund opportunities that we want to execute on a quick basis. So there is a certain amount that is being retained for that. And we see a fair number of opportunities that we could take advantage of. So it really is a combination of both those things, a healthy dose of conservatism which our regulator certainly encourages and is similarly exhibited by other Canadian life insurance companies. And also opportunistic -- allowing for opportunistic acquisitions.”
