MGP Ingredients Inc. reported unaudited consolidated earnings results for the first quarter ended March 31, 2013. For the quarter, net sales were $86,404,000 against $86,344,000 for the same period in the prior year. Income from operations was $1,296,000 against loss from operations of $2,243,000 for the same period in the prior year. Income from continuing operations before income taxes was $71,000 against $1,996,000 for the same period in the prior year. Net income from continuing operations was $71,000 compared with $1,876 million for the same period in the prior year. Net income was $1,477,000 or $0.08 per basic and diluted share compared to $1,876,000 or $0.10 per basic and diluted share a year ago.
