The Mosaic Company produces and markets concentrated phosphate and potash crop nutrients for the agriculture industry worldwide. It operates in two segments, Phosphates and Potash. The Phosphates segment offers concentrated phosphate crop nutrients, such as diammonium phosphate, monoammonium phosphate, and ammoniated phosphate product; and phosphate-based animal feed ingredients. This segment markets animal feed ingredients under the Biofos and Nexfos brand names. The Potash segment produces and sells potash for use as fertilizers and animal feed ingredients, as well as for use in various industrial applications. It also offers potash products for use in the de-icing and as a water softener regenerant. The company sells its products to wholesale distributors, retail chains, cooperatives, independent retailers, and national accounts through a network of sales offices, port terminals, and warehouses. The Mosaic Company was founded in 2004 and is headquartered in Plymouth, Minnesota.

The Mosaic Company Announces Management Changes, Effective June 1, 2014

The Mosaic Company announced that its President and Chief Executive Officer, James T. Prokopanko, is taking an anticipated medical leave of absence for surgery to treat his previously disclosed cancer. The Board of Directors has named Lawrence W. Stranghoener, as Interim CEO during Mr. Prokopanko's absence, effective June 1, 2014. Mr. Stranghoener has served as company's Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer since the company's formation in 2004. The company also announced that Mr. Stranghoener intends to retire at the end of 2014 and that the Board has named Richard L. Mack, 46, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer effective June 1, 2014. Mr. Stranghoener has served as Mosaic's Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer since the company's formation in 2004. Upon Mr. Prokopanko's return, Mr. Stranghoener will serve as Executive Vice President -- Strategy and Business Development until his retirement date and will focus on ensuring a smooth transition of his CFO duties to Mr. Mack and on advancing company's strategic objectives. After Mr. Stranghoener's retirement, his business development and strategy responsibilities will be assumed by Mr. Mack. Mr. Mack, currently Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary, has served as company's General Counsel since the company's launch in 2004 and has 20 years of experience in the crop nutrition industry. In the decade prior to company's formation, he served in various capacities at Cargill, Incorporated, where he played an instrumental role in the negotiations that created Mosaic and served as a founding executive of the company.

The Mosaic Company Appoints Denise Johnson to the Board of Directors

The Mosaic Company announced that Denise Johnson, Vice President of the Integrated Manufacturing Operations Division at Caterpillar Inc., has been elected to the company's Board of Directors. Ms. Johnson joined Caterpillar in 2011 and initially served as the general manager of special products within Caterpillar's Reman & Components Division, where she had global responsibility for 17 facilities.
