Eneva Announces Consolidated Earnings Results for the Second Quarter and Six Months of 2014

Eneva announced consolidated earnings results for the second quarter and six months of 2014. For the period, the company reported a net operating revenue of more than BRL 1 billion, an increase of 82% over the same period in the last year. EBITDA was BRL 183.2 million. In the quarter, the net operating revenues reached BRL 489.306 million, an increase of 23.8% over the second quarter of 2013, driven primarily by the start of commercial operations of Pecém II and higher revenue from Parnaíba I. Other important highlight in the second quarter was the EBITDA, of BRL 79.3 million, impacted by increased generation capacity of the company. The net loss also decreased in 51.9% in the second quarter of 2014, to BRL 112.3 million. In the quarter, the net loss was impacted primarily by interest expenses related to the end of the grace period on long-term project loans and higher leverage at the holding company.
