This segment assists public and private sector employers in the design, management, and administration of employee health care programs; provides a range of strategic and compliance-related retirement services and solutions to corporate, governmental, and institutional clients; advises organizations on the engagement, management, and rewarding of employees; and offers investment consulting and other services to the sponsors of pension funds, foundations, endowments, other investors, and wealth management companies. Marsh & Mclennan Companies Inc. Names Carey S. Roberts as Deputy General Counsel and Corporate Secretary

Marsh & McLennan Companies, Inc. announced that Carey S. Roberts has joined the firm as Deputy General Counsel and Corporate Secretary. She will report to Peter J. Beshar, Executive Vice President & General Counsel, of Marsh & McLennan. Ms. Roberts will be responsible for overseeing a team of lawyers and paralegals who provide advice in areas including securities, M&A, employment law, benefits and compensation, privacy, e-discovery, and general commercial and corporate law matters. As Corporate Secretary, Ms. Roberts will act as a liaison to the MMC Board of Directors and provide advice on corporate governance matters. For the past 17 years, Ms. Roberts has worked at Covington & Burling LLP. She has been a partner in the Corporate Department since 2005. At Covington, Ms. Roberts has advised a broad range of public and private companies on securities, finance, general corporate, regulatory, employee compensation and benefits, and intellectual property matters.

Marsh & McLennan Cos. Inc. issued $300 million of its 2.350% senior notes due 2019 and $500 million of its 3.500% senior notes due 2025. The company on September 10 issued $300 million of its 2.350% senior notes due 2019 and $500 million of its 3.500% senior notes due 2025, in relation to its previously announced notes offering. The underwriters agreed to purchase the notes pursuant to the parties' underwriting agreements. The notes were issued by and among the company and the Bank of New York Mellon as trustee.
