It operates in two segments, Original Equipment Manufacturing; and Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul. The company manufactures, assembles, and delivers commercial and military engines and components; and maintains, repairs, and overhauls aircraft engines and industrial gas turbines. It also provides technical and logistic support services, and custom-tailored training offerings for military engines. In addition, the company offers brush seals for use in aircraft engines, steam and gas turbines, pumps, and various other mechanical engineering applications. Further, it offers MANTIS, a bug-tracking system used by the external software developers for the engine projects; and Teamcenter portal, an external document management system that offers access to documents comprising drawings or specifications, as well as maintains and repairs commercial engines and components; leases engines; and provides teardown services for retired engines. The company was formerly known as MTU Aero Engines Holding AG and changed its name to MTU Aero Engines AG in May 2013. MTU Aero Engines AG was founded in 1913 and is headquartered in Munich, Germany.

MTU Announces Earnings Results for the Nine Months of 2014; Provides Earnings Guidance for the Full Year of 2014

MTU announced earnings results for the nine months of 2014. For the nine months, MRO revenues up by around 17%. Main driver for this strong growth was the catch-up effect of the deferred shop visits from the second quarter. Free cash flow of EUR 84 million as of end of September. The cash flow from operating activities was in the range of EUR 183 million, then EUR 131 million of investment activities. And then adjusted items in the amount of roughly EUR 32 million. For 2014, around 1,350 aircrafts are expected to be delivered, which is an increase of around 6% compared to last year, again, here, roughly 70% of that are narrow-body deliveries. The company updated all guidance to now EUR 3.75 billion of revenues, EUR 380 million of EBIT adjusted and a net income in the range of EUR 250 million. MTU Aero Engine Signs EUR 3 Billion Maintenance Deal with General Electric

MTU Aero Engines announced that it has sealed a contract worth more than EUR 3 billion (USD 3.7 billion) for the provision of maintenance, repair and overhaul services for the next-generation engines of GE Aviation, subsidiary of US General Electric. Under the agreement, MTU will provide services for the turbine centre frame of the engines used to power Boeing 787 Dreamliner and the Boeing 747-8. The agreement covers the entire life cycle of the engines. Up until now around 1,600 orders have been made. The first maintenance and repair are expected to take place in the second half of this year at MTU's facility in Hanover.

MTU Aero Engines AG Reports Earnings Results for Third Quarter and Nine Months Ended September 30, 2014

MTU Aero Engines AG reported earnings results for third quarter and nine months ended September 30, 2014. For the quarter, the company reported that revenues of €995.8 million compared to €884.7 million reported a year ago. EBIT was €100.2 million compared to €98.1 million reported a year ago. Free cash flow amounted to €66.4 million compared with €41.9 million for the same period in the last year. Research and development expenditure was €45.6 million compared to €52.4 million reported a year ago. Net income was €46.1 million or €2.61 per undiluted share compared to €52.2 million or €2.46 per undiluted share reported a year ago. For the nine months, the company reported that revenues of €2,811.6 million compared to €2,659.6 million reported a year ago. EBIT was €270.9 million compared to €267.8 million reported a year ago. Free cash flow amounted to €84.3 million compared with €67.1 million for the same period in the last year. Capital expenditure on property, plant and equipment was €64.3 million compared to €49.5 million reported a year ago. Net income was €132.9 million or €2.61 per undiluted share compared to €125.2 million or €2.46 per undiluted share reported a year ago. The increase in group revenues in the first nine months of 2014 is mainly attributable to strong growth in the commercial engine business, where revenues rose by 12% to 1,563.9 million (1-9/2013: 1,402.9 million). The engines that accounted for the large part of these revenues were the V2500, which powers the Airbus A320, the GP7000 for the Airbus A380, and the GEnx for Boeing's 787 Dreamliner and 747-8. The free cash flow reflects the successful results of optimization programs, which have given rise to sustainable improvements.
